Thank you for your mail. Indeed, it’s a bug that we have identified on the
Windows version of our software.

 

It has been fixed and it’s going to part of the next release of Linphone
desktop, the 4.3 (current version is 4.2.5). The release is schedule in a
couple of weeks and a newsletter will be sent for the occasion.

I’m in belgium and in french, we use accents.

When I create an contact, everithing is fine, it keeps the accents like
andré

When I close Linphone (not only main windows but the process) and I Start it
again it becomes André 

The data in the vcard is good in %localappdata%\linphone\friends.db

I’m using Linphone Desktop v4.2.5 on Windows 10, and I realized that in the
history call section the date of the calls is wrong, is reporting 1 day
before, in this example below the actual call date is Wednesday, September
22, you can see in this print screen that if you put the cursor above the
call time, appears the correct date:

You may install the latest version of Linphone for Desktop which bring a lot of 
new developments : https://www.linphone.org/snapshots/windows/app/

If you want to quit Linphone, please use the menu with the 3 horizontal bars 
icon and then choose Quit. If you use the X icon for the bar menu, it will 
simply close the window but Linphone will still be active.

I'm getting some problems with Linphone (Desktop 4.2.5 - Qt5.14.2  Core
4.4.19) on Windows 10, in that I'm trying to change the config and tell 
Linphone to register to a different server, but it seems to want to still try 
to connect to the original server.

So, I've been trying to uninstall Linphone and re-install it, but each time I 
try, when I launch Linphone again, it has all the old config preserved, and it 
still tries to connect to the old server. It looks like its trying the newly 
configured server, but looking at a wireshark trace, I can see it's still 
trying the old one.

I have tried uninstalling, plus deleting the Linphone directory in
ProgramFiles(x86) (which was left behind by the uninstall), and I also deleted 
any keys referring to Linphone from the registry, and deleted all the temporary 
Windows files.  But reinstalling after all that still leaves a load of 
preserved configuration stuff in the app.

How can I do a complete uninstall, and remove everything that relates to 
Linphone, so I can do a totally clean install from scratch?  (Apart from 
re-installing Windows!)

P.S. Another annoying bug is that when I quit Linphone, it still remains in 
memory doing its stuff, as you can see it in TaskManager.  Please - when we 
quit the app can we make sure the app does in fact quit?!

Please do not use default identity. That account was just creating for testing 
purpose with basic functionalities but is not meant to be used.

Many thanks for this.

I uninstalled the version I was using, and installed the latest version from 
your link, but the previous config still persists.  Specifically, I cannot 
reset the Default identity to anything other than what was originally installed.

So, the sip address of this default identity is wrong, and it just feels like 
the uninstall process is leaving things behind that it should not do.

I do like the new features though!  And I see there is now an option to Exit 
App on Close Window. Nice!

There is no feature for the moment to enable or disable a call notification. 
This feature is currently only available for the chat.

 

You can download a silent ringtone and set it as a ringtone in the audio 
settings. The ringtone must be Opus 16 bit linear to work.

Hi,

The only situation we are aware of when Linphone is deleted from your computer 
after shuting it down is when you log in as a guest on the computer. In this 
user mode, all the dowloaded apps, documents etc... will be deleted after you 
log out.

This is peformed by the OS, the application having has no capacity to unsintall 
itself on its own.

hash expected by winget (meaning it's been modified since it was first 
uploaded), and it doesn't have a signature, while the 4.3.1 exe was signed by

It looks like a display issue here. The letter “w” seems to be wider than
the letter “m”. The application is therefore deciding to reduce the display
of the name, hence the 3 dots.

 

Also, if you look at the SIP address, it has fetched the correct entry.

 

Please also upgrade to the latest version 4.4.1.

If the contact name from our LDAP Phone Book contains the letter “W” for

I am getting these errors on my asterisk server when I call with linphone:

   ERROR[C-0012]: corrupted stream
   WARNING: Codec opus returned invalid number of samples.
   WARNING: no samples for opustolin48

all other clients work fine without errors.

I have asked for advice on asterisk mailing list, but did not get any help 
there. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

The call works, but my logs are flooded with these messages, which is problem 
on its own.

I am using linphone 3.12.0 on Debian 10.

I create a linphone account with a standard phone number (not mobile phone)
and could not receive the sms  to complete registration.

So in the linphone System exist my account but its not possible to register
me.  I delete linphone complete from my computer. Installing again,  when I
try to create 

a new account with email (instead normal phone number)  the answer its that
this account exist already.  No way to delete the linphone account and try
it again from cero?

 

What can I do?

Hi Peter,

 

It means that you don’t the access to the server.

 

This can be caused by a lost of connectivity to the public internet or
because the server is down.

appeared in a triangle.

 

What is this a warning for please?

Dear Kamen,

 

Supporting push notifications has become compulsory since iOS 10 and on most 
recent Android phones to receive incoming calls and messages when the app is 
not active in foreground.

To wake up a VoIP app when an incoming call or an incoming message is received, 
the server must send a push notification request to Apple/Google's PN server. 
For security reasons, Apple/Google doesn't allow everybody to send push 
notifications to their servers. There are private keys and certificates to 
protect the whole process.

 

We have decided not to share Linphone’s push notification ID with third party 
services, and this is why the stock Linphone app can only receive push 
notifications sent from our sip.linphone.org service.

 

The background mode is not a guarantee that the phone will never kill the app.

Hi,

 

I'm using linphone with a SIP account and I often have missed calls because I 
do not get a notification from the app. I run Android 13 on a Galaxy S22. 

 

I've set-up Linphone to never sleep and to not take out permissions that are 
not used. The Linphone  Service is running all the time.

 

I have activated the debug logs. Here they are:
