boot problem

2010-07-09 Thread Lubos Kolouch
Hello,

I added another device to the / filesystem
(btrfs device add).

Now I can't boot off it, even though kernel sees both devices
(sda2, sdb2).

Am I screwed or is there any way how to convince the kernel
to assemble the / filesystem?

Thank you

Lubos

Lubos ,

If you have a multi-device btrfs filesystem you need to run btrfsctrl
-a to have the kernel register the filesystem. Tehre were some open
bug reports about this in various distros.

Re: Balancing leaves when walking from top to down (was Btrfs:...)

2010-07-09 Thread Chris Mason
I've just been giving a long stress run. It is working here without
trouble though, and I'll send it for the next rc.

How did that patch go ?

I've got a few people on our local LUG list who are interested
 in btrfs but were concerned about all the noise about balancing;
I thought this might have hit git for 2.6.35, but I can't see
 it there..

 cheers,

Disk space usage displayed incorrectly?

2010-07-09 Thread jck
Hello,
when i check diskspace usage of a btrfs partition using df i get the
wrong free space, this is expected i think.
However even when i use 'btrfs filesystem df' I get wrong freespace:
Data: total=123.58GB, used=87.31GB
Metadata: total=61.00GB, used=396.29MB
System: total=32.00MB, used=16.00KB

Does this mean that after the 123 GB of 'Data' fills up I wont be able
to add more stuff to the partition?
I'm using btrfs-progs-git (jul 10)
