2007-04-01 Thread Will .

For anyone interested the latest hvr4000 patch is here:

http://dev.kewl.org/tmp/hvr4000/stoth-10.diff

This one fixes the signal reading so linux apps can display a
correct representation of the actual level as well as providing
the latest diseqc fixes.

Thanks for the patch, signal strength now working great in myth.

[linux-dvb] Problems on scanning Hotbird

2007-04-01 Thread Luca Lucchesi

Hi.
I'm testing an Hauppauge WinTV Nova CI DVB-s card on Knoppix with kernel
2.6.19.
When I try to scan the Hotbird satellites, the scan utility doesn't found
all channels.
The scanning process takes about only 10 seconds and then stops without
errors.
The scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E
channels.conf output ends with:

dumping lists (45 services)
Done.

I'm attaching my complete channels.conf, which is only 46 rows long (it
should be very very longer!).
In fact, the scanning process doesn't work even with Kaffeine or MythTV, and
if I try to manually tune some transponders no channels are found.

Using the original Hauppauge's drivers on Windows XP with the same cable and
the same card I don't get any problem, and I can tune all channels on
Hotbird satellite, so I don't think it is a cable or card related problem.
My dish antenna is pointed only to Hotbird, so I can't try with another
satellites.

Anyone could help me to solve this problem?

Thank you very much!
Luca.

Santosh,

Sorry for the late reply, was swamped out with a lot of work in all
directions.
I will reply to your mail in context to your post on the ML since it may
help others as well.

The EN50221 CA stack is avaliable under libs/libdvben50221 in dvb-apps

http://linuxtv.org/hg/dvb-apps?mf=e96e8a2b15f2;path=/lib/libdvben50221/;style=gitweb
for the usage you can look at gnutv, which is there in dvb-apps as well

[linux-dvb] DiBcom 3000p tuning failed

2007-04-01 Thread Helmut Bardeli
I installed hopefully all necessary drivers and firmware

for a DIBcom 3000p DVB-T device on OpenSuse 10.2 system with 2.6.18
Kernel

dmesg says registered and looks fine for the hardware :

dvb-usb: found a 'DiBcom USB2.0 DVB-T reference design (MOD3000P)' in
cold state, will try to load a firmware
dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-dibusb-6.0.0.8.fw'
usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_dibusb_mc
dvb-usb: generic DVB-USB module successfully deinitialized and
disconnected.
dvb-usb: found a 'DiBcom USB2.0 DVB-T reference design (MOD3000P)' in
warm state.
dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software
demuxer.
dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 150 msecs.
dvb-usb: DiBcom USB2.0 DVB-T reference design (MOD3000P) successfully
initialized and connected.
saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.

1. dmesg accepts the device including firmware
2. dvb-t works without any problem on XP , therefore no problem with the
antenna.
3. the directory dev/adapter0 ... is there
4. starting kaffeine even notice the BiBcom 3000p
5. dvbscan scans with the result tuning failed
6. I checked the local channel list de-koeln-bonn , de-ruhrgebiet and
compared it with the
local definitions , seems to be ok
7. tzap even don´t give any result , always in status

My triel ends with no result from dvbscan

I use the local definition from de-Ruhrgebiet for
the channel definition.

Do I have all necessary drivers installed for the Kernel ?
Are there any problems with drivers ?

What can I do to test more ?

[linux-dvb] [patch] release the capture buffers on device closing

Hi,

if the video-device (saa7146 on a FF card) was open for capturing, the close

The attached patch may fix this problem. Possible there is more cleanup
necessary.

I was dumb enough to ask Manu what made Mauro some sort of red carpet

It turned out it was some bttv v4l2 conversion stuff which went not that
happy in a first attempt one year back and I asked why not try again
after things are more sorted, but it is a not repaired blackout since
then.

Unfortunately Manu took some private IRC stuff from you, when you had it

After you make your changes, run 'make commit'. This will give you a
pre-made log message to fill in and also fix certain things (e.g. add new
cards to the correct CARDLIST file).

After that, you can use 'hg export tip' to produce a patch to send to the
list. The premade log message you filled in will have the correct
signed-off-by line.

I followed the wiki on linuxtv.org and downloaded the firmware
dvb-ttpci-01.fw-2622 and copied in /lib/firmware.

[linux-dvb] Re: [v4l-dvb-maintainer] Patch kworld dvb-t 210 diff file

2007-04-01 Thread Michael Krufky
john owen-jones wrote:
 hi
I apologise for doing this incorrectly but i haven't a clue how to
 upload the diff file
this works very well with the kworld dvb-t 210 essentially its a clone
of a philips reference design and really just entails identifying the card.

I checked out the source using
 clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb
I have modified the source and created a diff file for the kworld DVB-T 210

Everything seems to work fine however i don't know how to upload the
diff file so i am posting it here.
 essentially its the same as
 http://lists-archives.org/video4linux/15273-kworld-dvb-t-210-support.html
but this patch is out of date (my previous patch 6 weeks ago is also out
 of date (not uploaded))
with these modifications the card is working fine with ubuntu feisty beta
it worked well with ubuntu edgy too

please can someone get this included in the source tree
feel free to contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 here is the diff file

Why is the new card's autodetection set to SAA7134_BOARD_PHILIPS_TIGER,
yet, you added a new card definition, SAA7134_BOARD_KWORLD_DVBT_210 ?

[linux-dvb] kworld atsc 110 remote

2007-04-01 Thread Jonathan Isom

Hello
I'm hoping some one can help me. I'm trying to make lirc handle
the remote control for the 110 but all the data i get from the card is
from the remote that came with the card. The codes i receive from the
remote are 1 byte long and match the buttons mapping in the patch
floating around. I was wondering if maybe you have to init the ir
controller to use it with another remote.
   any ideas
 Jonathan
