I have followed and used the patches that were on (are they in the repos now?): http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-NOVA-T-500 After a short while, one of the tuners dies. I get a (L__) Partial Lock message from mythtv. If it's any help, I also get messages like: DVB: frontend 0 frequency limits undefined - fix the driver In syslog, but that's even when it's working fine. Weird issue that I never encountered since I started using the card in August... Get a brand new tree, there have been a lot of changes very recently, merge of old patches and new fixes too. Make sure that you have the right firmware too. Then do a cold reboot, going through a power down, then check in the messages that the card was found in a cold state before a firmware upload. http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-NOVA-T-500#Firmware Nico Ben, I'm at loss for an explanation. I'm just not experiencing your problem. People with a better brain than mine will need to jump in. Have you tried turning debugging on for the modules, and get a more verbose log from mythbackend ? Nico ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb Hi, I have been experiencing this problem for a few months now. I think it is related to the use of the remote control. I have written a workaround application for Ubuntu Linux that scans for a mt2060 error in the dmesg log. If found it will restart mythtv-backend. This seems to mitigate tha problem. I can't wait for this issue to be fixed. [linux-dvb] diseqc amplifier
Hi, I got a old dvb-s FF card (hauppauge nexus 2.1), and I would like to drive a diseqc motor (with VDR motor plugin). Unfortunately the card can't provide enough power to drive the motor (the motor start to move the dish, but often the card became crazy (firmware hand/reboot, ...)). I remember some time ago to see a sort of diseqc amplifier/relay (may be in the spec) that could be put between the dvb-s card and the motor, and that will provide the extra power needed. Does some people have tried such thing ? What is your amplifier/ where did you buy it ? Hi, 2008/1/30, Noah Magram [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hello all, The antennaweb.org scraper make_atsc_chanconf.pl is broken due to changes on the antennaweb.org site, specifically the need for cookies and an additional mapping page that gets displayed when only a zipcode is entered. The latest in CVS gives this error as a result: CVS is outdated and superseded by mercurial. Regenerated patch attached - Mike, can I have your $0.02 please? [linux-dvb] Satelco EasyWatch + Cryptoworks
Hi, following the suggestion by Manu, I ditched the Twinhan VP1032 (which had problems with the Cryptoworks CAM) and bought a SAA7146-based Satelco EasyWatch PCI card with CI module. This gets recognized as device 1131/7146 subsystem 1894/001b and appears to work with the budget_av + dvb_pll + stv0299 module combination from a vanilla 2.6.24 kernel. Reception of FTA channels is OK, but the CI section looks even more problematic than the VP1032's. The kernel logs dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully However, any attempt to access the CAM fails: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dst_test -c main: Capabilities APP: Slots=[1] APP: Type=[2] APP: Descrambler keys=[0] APP: Type=[0] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dst_test -i main: Info No CI Slots found [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dst_test -a main: App Info dst_comms: Msg=[9f 80 30 ] dst_comms: ioctl failed .. dst_get_app_info: Dst communication failed Maybe I'm missing something obvious? Yes, those dst_* tools are only needed (and usable) for a few cards. Try gnutv or a normal dvb application (kaffeine, vdr, mythtv, ...).
