I have this set up with ldirectord on HA. Do the directors and the real 
backend servers have to be on the same subnet?

Depends on your setup. With
DR: yes.
tunnel: no
NAT: no

Thanks Michael - I think this is the root of my problem with my previous 
post. I was using DR on different subnets. Guess I'll switch to tunnel.
