OO bidi support

2002-05-21 Thread Amir Tal

after downloading and installing bidi-openoffice.org-1.0.0-5.i386.rpm, what
has to be configured in OpenOffice in order to use the right to left hebrew
support ?

this is RH73, kde 3.0.0-10, OpenOffice641.

i got the deb's from iglu aliened them to rpms and installed its oo 1.0 on a
clean redhat 7.3 install i needed to set locale to he_IL (locale_config i
think, there is a redhat wizard to do it). imported the windows fonts and
everything works and prints fine.
althouth i still have a problem openning office saved doc's (i have to select
the text select any font available and only then i can see the letters)
anybody encountered that problem ? i posted it a couple of days ago but got
no response.

 after downloading and installing  bidi-openoffice.org-1.0.0-5.i386.rpm,
 what has to be configured in OpenOffice in order to use the right to left

Note that you can by now find alien-ed debs in the same location:

  http://linux.org.il/pub/Hebrew/OpenOffice

(if I'll place this link in enough places google will make it easier to
find ;-) )

I'm interested to hear where those packages work well, where they need sme
rpm-tinkering, and where they should not be installed at all.

 and installed its oo 1.0 on a

Ahemm...

What font does OO use to display unavailable fonts? Can I chage this?

 as to rpm tweaking, i can say that on clean rh 7.3 i needed to upgrade
 to libgcc-3.0.4-1.i386.rpm and libstdc++3-3.0.4-1.i386.rpm (both found on
 rpmfind

This means that redhat 7.3 needed tinkering. This means that any distro
will need some tinkering.

It requires: (partial list)

libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3
libstdc++.so.3
libgcc_s.so.1(GCC_3.0)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2)

other then setting the locale, is there anything that has to be done inside
OO? (other then changing the fonts in the text editor, which i already
tried..)
