With SO5.1, I couldn't open Hebrew Word files. With SO5.2 Preview, this works fine. Of course, the Hebrew is backwards... Note that unlike a standard wysiwyg word-processor the size of the screen fonts is not critical, as the rendering is done by latex with a different set of fonts, and lyx does not assume too much about the size of the screen fonts [please correct me if I'm wrong, Dekel]. Actually I have used it from an X terminal for which I can't set resonable fonts, and I had to settle for using fixed fonts (with strange sizes) for it. It took some time to get used-to, but nothing really terrible.
