For instance, if you got something a bit wrong in the URL, you'll have to go through all the process again. For starters, take a look at /etc/cups/printers.conf . The format is quite straight-forward. If you'll need a different PPD file for the printer, copy it to /etc/cups/ppd/printer-name.ppd . The name of the printer is the one from the 'Printer'/'DefaultPrinter' tag. Don't forget /etc/init.d/cupsys reload , or something similar. = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

(But I am not talking of course about connecting it as a slave to the linux client.) If it has an IP address CUPS can print to it. CUPS is very tricky to set up, I wrote some simple ways to do it (avoid the Red Hat or SuSE scripts) for another mailing list, I can did them out if you want, or look at the YellowDog linux archives. Re: Is there a way to print to this printer from linux
Sure you can. you can set things up with CUPS, or if you want the real easy way, use KDE printer configurations. Let KDE printer configuration scan your IP address range (or tell it directly what is the printer's IP address). Also, most of the times the port to talk to the printer's IP address is 9100. So run the config, select the IP, select the printer from the printers list (if it's not there, you can manually feed a PPD file from your printer's CD media, or simply choose a compatible printer from the list), select if you need any banners, do a test printing and thats it. You're done :) Thanks, Hetz -- Visit my blog (hebrew) for things that (sometimes) matter: http://wp.dad-answers.com On 3/10/06, Rafi Gordon [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, We have at office a printer which is connected directly to the LAN.
