The OLPC Israel pilot turned to a program in the Ilan Ramon center for
physics with commercial netbooks. It has a page here:

I ran the pilot at the time with old B2 machines. I am also in
contact with the active Palestinian PeleXO community (who actually get
laptops from OLPC). if you need any contact to OLPC can get it for
you, I'll also be happy to answer any questions you have :)
