More UBSAN_TRAP, this should be fixed by Kees' new patch.

Hi all,

News: there will be no linux-next release on Monday.

Changes since 20200528:

My fixes tree contains:

4cb4bfffe2c1 ("device_cgroup: Fix RCU list debugging warning")

The drm-intel-fixes tree gained a build failure for which I reverted
a commit.

The s390 tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.

The nfsd tree gained conflicts against the nfs-anna tree.

The vfs tree gained a conflict against the erofs tree.

The net-next tree gained conflicts against the nfsd tree.

The drm-msm tree still had its build failure so I applied a patch.

The tip tree gained a conflict against the arm tree.

The rcu tree lost its build failure but gained a conflict against the
tip tree.

The kvm tree gained a conflict against the s390 tree.

The kvm-arm tree gained a conflict against the arm64 tree.

The akpm-current tree gained conflicts against the tip tree.

The akpm tree gained conflicts against the tip tree.

Non-merge commits (relative to Linus' tree): 12778
 13125 files changed, 742873 insertions(+), 217195 deletions(-)

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" and checkout or reset to the new
master.

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log
files in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built
with a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc, an allmodconfig for x86_64, a
multi_v7_defconfig for arm and a native build of tools/perf. After
the final fixups (if any), I do an x86_64 modules_install followed by
builds for x86_64 allnoconfig, powerpc allnoconfig (32 and 64 bit),
ppc44x_defconfig, allyesconfig and pseries_le_defconfig and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig and htmldocs. And finally, a simple boot test
of the powerpc pseries_le_defconfig kernel in qemu (with and without
kvm enabled).

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

I am currently merging 324 trees (counting Linus' and 82 trees of bug
fix patches pending for the current merge release).

Stats about the size of the tree over time can be seen at
http://neuling.org/linux-next-size.html .

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds. And to Paul
Gortmaker for triage and bug fixes.

linux-next: Tree for May 29

2018-05-29 Thread Stephen Rothwell
Hi all,

Changes since 20180525:

New trees: scsi-fixes

The drm-intel-fixes tree gained a build failure for which I reverted
a commit.

The kbuild tree lost its build failure.

The overlayfs tree gained a conflict against the btrfs-kdave tree.

The vfs tree gained a conflict against the overlayfs tree.

The printk tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.

The net-next tree gained a conflict against the s390 tree, a build
failure for which I reverted 3 commits and another due to an interaction
with the vfs tree for which I applied a merge fix patch.

The block tree gained conflicts against the vfs tree.

The irqchip tree gained a conflict against the arm-soc tree.

The scsi tree gained a conflict against the net-next tree.

The crypto tree gained build failures so I marked some features as BROKEN.

The akpm-current tree gained a conflict against the vfs tree.

Non-merge commits (relative to Linus' tree): 9631
 9779 files changed, 411515 insertions(+), 347180 deletions(-)

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" and checkout or reset to the new
master.

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log
files in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built
with a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc, an allmodconfig for x86_64, a
multi_v7_defconfig for arm and a native build of tools/perf. After
the final fixups (if any), I do an x86_64 modules_install followed by
builds for x86_64 allnoconfig, powerpc allnoconfig (32 and 64 bit),
ppc44x_defconfig, allyesconfig and pseries_le_defconfig and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig. And finally, a simple boot test of the powerpc
pseries_le_defconfig kernel in qemu (with and without kvm enabled).

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

I am currently merging 278 trees (counting Linus' and 64 trees of bug
fix patches pending for the current merge release).

Stats about the size of the tree over time can be seen at
http://neuling.org/linux-next-size.html .

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds. And to Paul
Gortmaker for triage and bug fixes.

linux-next: Tree for May 29

2015-05-29 Thread Stephen Rothwell
Hi all,

Changes since 20150528:

The rr-fixes tree lost its build failure.

The arm-perf tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the arm-current
trees.

The imx-mxs tree gained a build failure for which I disabled a driver.

The h8300 tree gained a conflict against the imx-mxs tree.

The wireless-drivers-next tree still had its build failure so I applied
a supplied patch.

The crypto tree lost its build failure but gained conflicts against the
ipsec tree.

The kvm tree gained a build failure due to a bad merge resolution,
so I applied a merge fix patch.

The usb-gadget tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20150528.

The char-misc tree still had its build failure so I used a supplied patch.

The clk tree gained a conflict against the imx-mxs tree.

The akpm tree lost a patch that turned up elsewhere.

linux-next: Tree for May 29

2014-05-29 Thread Stephen Rothwell
Hi all,

The powerpc allyesconfig is again broken more than usual.

Changes since 20140528:

The powerpc tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.

The nfsd tree lost its build failure.

The vfs tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the nfs trees.

The driver-core tree lost its build failure.

The tty tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20140528.

The usb tree gained a build failure for which I applied a fix patch.

The staging tree lost its build failure.

The akpm-current tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the powerpc
trees.

Non-merge commits (relative to Linus' tree): 9845
 8127 files changed, 375031 insertions(+), 222962 deletions(-)

I am currently merging 219 trees (counting Linus' and 29 trees of patches
pending for Linus' tree).

Stats about the size of the tree over time can be seen at

Status of my local build tests will be at

2014-05-29 Thread Stephen Rothwell
Hi all,

The powerpc allyesconfig is again broken more than usual.

Changes since 20140528:

The powerpc tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.

The nfsd tree lost its build failure.

The vfs tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the nfs trees.

The driver-core tree lost its build failure.

The tty tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20140528.

The usb tree gained a build failure for which I applied a fix patch.

The staging tree lost its build failure.

The akpm-current tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the powerpc
trees.

Non-merge commits (relative to Linus' tree): 9845
 8127 files changed, 375031 insertions(+), 222962 deletions(-)

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use git pull
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use git fetch and checkout or reset to the new
master.

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64 and a
multi_v7_defconfig for arm. After the final fixups (if any), it is also
built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and 64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and
allyesconfig (this fails its final link) and i386, sparc, sparc64 and arm
defconfig.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

I am currently merging 219 trees (counting Linus' and 29 trees of patches
pending for Linus' tree).

Stats about the size of the tree over time can be seen at
http://neuling.org/linux-next-size.html .

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds. And to Paul
Gortmaker for triage and bug fixes.

linux-next: Tree for May 29

2013-05-28 Thread Stephen Rothwell
Hi all,

Changes since 20130528:

The trivial tree gained a conflict against the net-next tree.

The xen-arm tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20130528.

The staging tree gained a conflict against the net-next tree.

The net-next tree added the following build warning for some
configurations:

In file included from include/net/tcp.h:44:0,
 from net/core/sock.c:139:
include/net/inet_ecn.h: In function 'INET_ECN_set_ce':
include/net/inet_ecn.h:137:50: warning: comparison between pointer and integer
[enabled by default]
include/net/inet_ecn.h:142:52: warning: comparison between pointer and integer
[enabled by default]

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc,
sparc64 and arm defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 227 trees (counting Linus' and 31 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at

advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
