The pvrusb2 driver does not currently support uncompressed video 
capture.  Rather, the data arrives to the application as mpeg2.  There 
are numerous ways to use this data.  You can make it work with mplayer 
for example, but not when mplayer is in pure V4L mode.  Rather than 
repeating it all here, check out the pvrusb2 web site which has a list 
of various apps and how to make each one work (or why it won't work).

Months (years?) ago, I did manage to get MythTV to work with analog signals
but the reception was horrible so I gave up.  Watching TV is not a high
priority and I never installed the amplified roof antenna.  I never figured
out how to select the composite or S-video inputs from within MythTV.

o xawtv

xawtv doesn't have a norm for NTSC (only PAL and SECAM) so even though I can
select the composite input:  no picture.  It also says:

v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway

So,  what else can I try?
