[Linux-traipu] [Bug 900796] Re: when i run openshot i am able to import a file one time only.
Ok i have the exact same problem and i know why. Recently, the open file dialog in gnome changed a bit, now, by defaut, when you want to add a file, the recently used category is showed in the open filedialog. It's an issue because we want to retrieve the last used directory when we open a file, and if we pick the file from the recently used files, then the last used directory is not set, producing an error the next time you wan't to add a file. ** Changed in: openshot Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: openshot Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of UBUNTU - AL - BR, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900796 Title: when i run openshot i am able to import a file one time only. I thought we change that a long time ago ! didn't we used xml format at some point ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of UBUNTU - AL - BR, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879697 Title: Use a text-based project file format Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New Bug description: Problem: The .osp project files that openshot generates are a proprietary binary format, which means that I absolutely have to use the OpenShot GUI to do all the tasks I need to do. Using a text editor to e.g. add 100 image files that fade into each other every 5 seconds with 1.5 seconds transition time is not possible. Solution Using a text-based (preferably XML-based) project file format. This has several advantages: - Manipulation from outside tools is possible easily - Can be repaired manually in case something went really wrong Also, mass-adjusting settings with a text editor's search and replace feature cannot be done. What I tried I tried to export the project to .mlt, change all the settings with a text editor and then open it again. If I remember correctly, you can simulate it in Openshot with key frames. I currently use images + random transitions, but some photo presentations would be better with ken burns and openshot doesn't seem to allow to use that effect easily. [Linux-traipu] [Bug 801342] Re: Suggestion: collapse clips to fill gaps and automove clips to insert new

This is not a bug, it's a suggestion, but I don't know how to classify it as wishlist / suggestion. The main problem in OpenShot is removing and adding new clips in the beginning/middle of the timeline when your project has grown, as you end moving manually all clips or counting duration to use the Shift clips tool to move them with offset. 1. REMOVING CLIPS: Currently I check clip properties, write down in a paper the Duration, and use the Shift Clips feature with -duration (negative value) to move all clips back in time and fill the gap, but it would be very nice to have the option to autocollapse clips to fill gaps: [CLIP1].[CLIP2][CLIP3].[CLIP4] (You click in AUTOCOLLAPSE) [CLIP1][CLIP2][CLIP3][CLIP4] This way you can happily remove clips and rearrange the timeline automatically. If you need to insert a new clip, 2.- ADDING CLIPS: Currently I check the new clip properties, write down in a paper the Duration, and use the Move Clips feature with +duration to leave gap for the clip, and then I move it. It would be nice to have an option to add an item to the timeline automatically moving all the clips in that point after or before it. Besides those 2 suggestions, if you also correct the following bugs, Openshot would be almost perfect, surely the best video editor available in Linux: 3.- Fade In/Out Glitches Bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/520941 4.- Icons etc. disappearing https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/505578 Please, keep the GOOD work. A release adding / correcting the previous 4 features / bugs would be highly celebrated :-) Thanks! PS : Versions. [Linux-traipu] [Bug 721916] Re: Image durations do not match preview/timeline.
** Changed in: openshot Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of UBUNTU - AL - BR, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/721916 Title: Image durations do not match preview/timeline. Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Incomplete Bug description: Lining up a number of png images with various durations (mostly around 2 seconds each, some shorter, some longer), all on the same track. Intent is that one will come immediately after another, with no transition effect. The preview shows them as I want them, lasting for the same amount of time as I set in the timeline. But on export to (apparently any) video format, the durations change. With theora and DVD, the length of each image is shorter. With MP4/Youtube, the length is longer. The new length does seem at least slightly proportional to the length in the timeline/preview. 1.1.3 on Ubuntu 10.04, installed with apt-get. EDIT: With further testing, this seems to be related to quality. The lower the quality, the shorter each image's duration. Medium seems to work about right, at least for MP4.
