Have you looked through the USB 2.0 specification? It's freely available

I'm not aware of any documentation outside the kernel source except for
the web page at
http://www.linux-usb.org/gadget/
However, using dummy-hcd is very easy. You do this:
modprobe dummy-hcd
followed by
modprobe g-zero
(or whichever gadget driver you want to try out).
