small problem

2002-03-06 Thread Keith Antoine

I am just about closing off and bedding down, but!
I managed to backup all essential stuff today and reinstall eServer 3.1.1,
which has given me back my ability to print. Reinstalled quit a bit but I now
have a small problem, 2 in fact, that I might ask about.

Have no parallel printer port it seems, I do have usb. Thjought it might be
that the ||printer is not enabled in the kernel. Went to root called xconfig
and it said that command gcc was not available ?? Maybe not installed but i
did do a complete install, all goodies. I also cannot undo tar files as 'tar'
is not in my path ?? now why would that be !!

Am going to look on the install cd to see if i can find them.

Any comments would bve appreciated. Gain one lose 2

Is there any reason NOT to use QT3 with KDE 2.x? Anyone?

I would think it would be a Bad Idea (tm). QT3 was still beta during the
KDE2x development, and changes have been made that may break KDE 2.x.
But go ahead and try it and let us know ;-). Although, you could always
ask on IRC (#kde-devel, or #kde irc.openprojects.net)

It works here on my tar:

What distribution? Can you point to SRPMS so I can compare with
the Caldera versions? I have a RedHat 7.1 system here reporting
that size, but the Source CD doesn't have SRPMS for tar-1.13.19-4.

Red Hat 7.2.
$ rpm -q tar
tar-1.13.19-6

It isn't the tape drive. I've looked at the source enough to see
that this is in the basic getopts processing, long before it even
looks at the tape. It fails without looking at the ``-b'' option
 so specify block size.

Ah. Well, I haven't looked at the source code. No time.

After an unpleasant foray into kmail, I have returned to the sylpheed fold.

Any idea how to add headers like these from sylpheed?

I am using Kmail 2.1.1 and put it under Mime Headers.. right spot to begin
 with?

 I tried it with X-essage-flag: , X-message-flag: and X-message-flag as
the name with Linux : The choice of a GNU generation as the the value.

When I check the properties using OE Express it shows up there but it
doesnot come in flagged and when opened it does not show up in the
 highlighted info bar either.

Not that it really matters jsut wondering why it aint working I also
check through pine to see if I could locate a spot that I could create the
same affect but cant seem to locate a spot in it...
