As a back-stage theatre nerd of old, I'd be interested in how you got on with

I'll also be looking at the possibility of the Convention Centre. In
either case I'm looking into meeting with people to see about using

Steven,

As an aside, where and how can you tell what seating size any of the
lecture theatres are at UoC?

"The first thing to think about is your team. At the BoF, it was
strongly suggested that you need around five to six people for a good
bid. I've seen conferences run with fewer people than that, but it is
risky. LCA is a large and complicated event these days, and with a
planning horizon of around two years, you need to be prepared for there
to be a fair bit of churn in your core organizing team. Some people will
move away, or change jobs. Others might have a new child and discover
they're much too busy for a conference as well. So, remember when you're
putting that initial team together to pack in some extra folks in order
to handle the churn. Most Australian capital cities have former LCA
organizers in them these days as well (we call them ghosts in the Linux
Australia community). You should try to find one or two of these people
to be involved as well. For example, the Canberra bid committee
currently stands at 14 people, seven or whom have been on a LCA core
team before, 3 of whom have served on Linux Australia's national
committee, and at least two of whom have run their local Linux User's
Group at some point in the past. " - Michael Still

Amended http.conf to recognise files with .php suffix
Scanned http.conf and php.conf.
Searched the web for help.

Apache now recognizes both/either 127.0.0.1 and localhost in the

also file.html and file.php.

With an entry like ?phpinfo ?, the ?php is dropped, the rest of

Both http.conf and php.conf have so much in the way of explanatory

Still, I think the Alix boards are a better solution for
routers/firewalls than a mini-ITX platform. Cheaper total solution if
buying new (inc. case etc), smaller, no cooling fan needed, lower power,
 three nic's inbuilt.

[Linux-users] CPIT - Scientia Web Server for Course Planner

2011-02-20 Thread Andrew Sands

List dwellers,

In trying to assist individual in the house attending CPIT, they had the
reasonably sound idea that they would print out their course timetable.

The CPIT have an on-line timetable system that produces almost the worst
web page (firefox here) that I've yet seen. Within the page rendered by
the browser, there appears to be an iframe. However the information
contained by this iframe can not be zoomed, therefore you have to scroll
right to the bottom of the page, before you find a scroll-bar for
movement of the horizontal view.

So, there's the problem. The big money question[1] is, has anyone on the
list been enrolled at CPIT and found anyway in which course timetable
information can be downloaded in a more suitable calendar format i.e.
iCal or even ascii.

Thanks for reading,
