been updated yet, it says only TBD, at least 8.3.

I updated the page just now.

Is there someone who knows wich version of FreeBSD 2.1 is based on?

8.3-RELEASE-p11

It was going to be 8.3 the TBD part was for the patchlevel. It ended up
being -p11 by the time 2.1 was released.

It is 8.3.

Ok!

Can you / someone please confirm that the following is the correct
repository for me to use, when installing packages of FreeBSD on pfSense
2.1:
http://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/8.3-RELEASE/packages/All/
?

You shouldn't need the -archive bits since 8.3 is still a supported
release.

http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/8.3-RELEASE/packages/Latest/

http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/8.3-RELEASE/packages/Latest/

After around April 30, 2014 it may move to the archive, but not before
then. That is when FreeBSD support for 8.3 expires1[1]. We still
maintain it on our own though if needed./security/

When it does move to the archive, it would be, for example:
http://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/i386/8.3-RELEASE/packages/Latest/

That does not yet exist, but the URL for 8.1 is there if you want to
check it.

Until next April, anyway.
