Actually, the reason that you can't see the text in any other browser is due to the use of a drop shadow - something else that only Safari and its siblings renders. [WSG] swift - only windows browser with a webkit?
Hi, I got this idea from the 'Wow, if only everyone did this' conversation. Swift seems to be the only Windows browser with a webkit, making it an idea to test websites for mac-compatibility if you don't have a mac. But any link I found so far to download this new, open source web browser leeds to www.getswift.org which refuses the connection. Does anyone know where to get swift? [WSG] Safari and bg-images for list bullets
I have a couple of problems with Safari which can be seen on this page: http://www.tyssendesign.com.au/examples/test.html The first is the misalignment of the bg-images that I'm using for bullets. Every other browser including IE5 displays them how I want them except for Safari. I did a quick search but the only thing I came up with was that this was a bug that only affected earlier versions but it seems to be the same in Safari 2.0 too. So, is there a solution? Does it require using a Safari-only filter? Which brings me on to the next problem which is illustrated by the search box. Most browsers displayed it how I wanted, but I had to use a filter to give Opera 8.5 a different height (Opera 9 is OK). It seems like Safari has the same problem, so again, do I need to add a filter for Safari, or is there a better way to do this without resorting to any filters/hacks? I've already done that though. The space between the two states is about 5 times the height of the actual bullet. In Safari you can actually seem the on state appearing above the off state even though it's about 40px below it in the image file and bg-repeat is set to no-repeat. Re: [WSG] Getting the layout to work and with all browsers
Copy and paste ;) Hi there. I'm looking to adopt a drop-down menu theme on my site. I've got most of it sorted, but there's still a few teething problems. If you look at www.camieabz.co.uk for an example of the existing navigation tabs first (no drop-down). The testsite link is www.camieabz.co.uk/menutest/index.html The pertinent CSS file is www.camieabz.co.uk/menutest/menustyle.css and is solely for the menu section of the styling. There may be bits and pieces in the other style sheet which need to come out. Problems: Opera / Firefox menu bar sits higher that drop-down menu, making navigation impossible. Original site tabs have an image which forms the left border of the tabs. On the new version, they don't show. Also there should be a small black arrow image on menu items 1.5 and 5.5 to indicate another sub level menu. No show either. Those are the important ones. The only other I can think of is that the original site tab colours are preferred, but the new ones are different. Appreciate any help, as the template I'm using has (for me at least) slightly more complicated selectors than usual. Many thanks! Dave Cameron.
