LPRng: HP Colorjet 4550N

2004-10-12 Thread Reiner Linnenkohl
Hello,
i have some problems with HP Colorjet 4550N;
first i send for example two jobs, ascii in this case:
$ lpr -Pinsp3 zzz1.txt
$ lpr -Pinsp3 zzz2.txt
$ lpq -Pinsp3
Printer: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 'Colorjet 4550N'
Queue: 2 printable jobs
Server: pid 508 active
Unspooler: pid 509 active
Status: waiting for subserver to exit at 10:05:26.718
Filter_status: display = 'linnen zzz1.txt:insp3' at 10:05:42.493
Rank Owner/ID Pr/Class Job Files Size Time
active [EMAIL PROTECTED]A   478 zzz1.txt 34
10:05:24
2  [EMAIL PROTECTED]A   481 zzz2.txt 34
10:05:26

Now printer insp3 print the document and then this behaviour:
$ lpq -Pinsp3
Printer: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 'Colorjet 4550N'
Queue: 2 printable jobs
Server: pid 508 active
Unspooler: pid 509 active
Status: waiting for subserver to exit at 10:08:22.017
Filter_status: display = 'linnen zzz1.txt:insp3' at 10:05:42.493
Rank Owner/ID Pr/Class Job Files Size Time
stalled(162sec) [EMAIL PROTECTED]   A   478 zzz1.txt 34
10:05:24
2  [EMAIL PROTECTED]A   481 zzz2.txt 34
10:05:26

Then i have to $ lprm -Pinsp3 478 to get the second job on print,
with other words, after every printed job i have to remove him to get
the next one ...
Working with LPRng-3.8.28/ifhp-3.5.19 on Solaris 2.8.
Anyone with an idea ? Thank you !
Reiner

LPRng: ifhp-3.5.18

2004-09-30 Thread Reiner Linnenkohl
Hello,
after upgrading to ifhp 3.5.18 it's not possible to print simple Text files;
Paper comes out with No conversion available for type
'can't_stat_'stdin'_(no_such_file_or_directory).'
I used the same configure options like with ifhp 3.5.17 (which works fine)
Platform is Solaris 8 with gcc version 2.95.3.

Thank you for help !
Reiner
Note from Patrick:
ARGH ARGH! Get 3.5.19 - pushing it out to the web site now.
  Version ifhp-3.5.19 - Thu Sep 30 16:16:28 PDT 2004

Grrr... changed the default 'Inputfile' value to 'STDIN'
so it would print nicely, but this value is also used as
a parameter to the file program. Grrr... added another
test to the regression tests. This is getting silly.

Re: LPRng: ifhp-3.5.16/7

2004-04-19 Thread Reiner Linnenkohl
Thanks a lot John,

i put *text* ps \%s{a2ps_converter} in my ifhp.conf which solves
the problem :-)
Reiner

John Perkins wrote:

I've added the following conversion type:
 *text*  ps  \%s{a2ps_converter}
somewhere above the following line:
 * msg  no_converter
which has cleared up such problems at our site.
Try it and see if it works for your printers as well.

This sounds like a problem with file types in ifhp.
