[Ltsp-discuss] Gui login problem
Hi dear friends, I've a problem after LTSP installation on lenny: login from gui interface failed without error, it seid me :password incorrect but this is a lie. [Ltsp-discuss] hardy and ltsp problem clients
Hi dear friends, I have installed Hardy with LTSP. Well, the Pc serve eleven thin clients. I tested the environment with my laptop, my desk and on a virtualbox client like clients: all work fine from sound to local devices. But. surprise :-(( on work enviroment clients freeze at startup time! All! DHCP gave the ip address, clients loaded the first step then, when edubuntu word appeared, the screen became black and the nothing happened. Hi dear friend, after founded other problem working in shell session: switching from login to shell prompt without control, I preferred delete and rebuilt the client environment. Don't ask me why, but now the login and x work fine, my problem now is the local device: I'm studing the previous threads but this is another story... Hi dear friend, I have a little problem with x at login. Better, all work at start up but when the user attempt login x don't start and system return to login window. How can I configure the server? I use ldm and Etch like SO. I read debian wiki ltsp howto but I have not /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/doc/ltsp-client-core/examples/configure-x-xdebconfigurator.gz so, I put lts.conf in /opt/ltsp/etc/ with inside the follow line: [Default] SERVER = 192.168.1.254 XSERVER= vesa X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL = PS/2 X_MOUSE_DEVICE = /dev/psaux X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 400 X_MOUSE_BUTTONS= 3 USE_XFS= N LDM_DIRECTX= true X_MODE_0 = 1024x768 I have some difficult to find some documentation about. HiBen, I'm disperate and without idea. I passed option-128 with the magic number and option-129 with kernel parameter: option-129 NIC=3c509 IO=0x300 But the bootup failed. In order: 1) client found dhcp server and recived ip address 2) load the kernel 3) failed after a few seconds with kernel panic Below a message advise me that option-129 need something. But, what? [Ltsp-discuss] Ethernet card problem
Hi dear friends, I have some Clients pc within 3COM card :3c509. I read the web page about the configuration but I don't understand how it is possible to disable the full-duplex option. I downloaded the files from the link but they are .exe: I haven't windows. How can I by-pass the problem? The computer's BIOS haven't options about network control yet. I run our company's Customer Relationship Management software, which is just an executable file on a Windows NT server, from an LTSP client and it runs beautifully. If the program is on a CD-ROM, LTSP 5 has fantastic local device support. It mounts the removable media in /media/username/device and all you'll have to do is add a Dos_Device, say D:\ pointing to that location. Then just run the program with wine D:\program_name. If the program is multimedia intensive, I would suggest not trying over LTSP. The limitations for running Windows programs on this system are the same than running them on a real Windows Server. Windows Terminal Services and the rdp protocol have some disadvantages, especially when running multimedia software. Have anypeople experiences about? Hi Paulo, i'm testing LTSP5 with lenny on a virtual Machine and work fine, without problems. Did you configure forwarding ?
