Hi J,

After plug-in the 3Com 3c905c-tx network card ...

IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM :))

So, the problem is just on the network module ...

Thanks for your help..

I'll be back with another issue :)

Thanks,

 Hi J,

Thanks for your quick reply, i've checked the link.
 1. I've tried to copy pxelinux.0 from /usr/share/syslinux/pxelinux.0
 to /srv/tftpboot/ (still kernel panic)
 2. I've tried to replace pxelinux.0 from your attachement at
 https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=b317ae5c1001070645g3f07c6c4ve1de55f89bba338d%40mail.gmail.com
 (still kernel panic)

Please look at my client's screenshoot
 (http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/454/dsc0290s.jpg), this error came
 before Loading KIWI File System.

In the mean time should I downgrade kiwi-ltsp-prebuilt and

 Current kiwi rpm installed.

 ltsp:/srv/tftpboot # rpm -qa | grep kiwi
 kiwi-desc-netboot-3.74-86.1.i586

Why using -unstable? try 0.8.1, if that does not work then try 0.7.8
version prebuilt images.

Also let me know if http://en.opensuse.org/Education/Live DVD boots on
the client.

[Ltsp-discuss] [kiwi-ltsp] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount fs on unknown-block (3, 1)

2010-01-10 Thread Donny Christiaan
Dear Expert,

I've sucessfully installed OpenSuse Li-f-e 11.2.
Some client can boot over network and login to LTSP.

But I have some problem with some CPU that can not booting to Login window.

The error is:

VFS: Cannot open root device NULL or unknown-block (3,1)
Please append a correct root= boot option; here are the available partitions
DEBUG_BLOCK_EXT_DEVT is enabled, you need to specify explicit textual
name for root= boot option.

Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount fs on unknown-block (3,1)

After that the computer became Freezee and the Caps Lock Led and
Scroll Lock Led blinking.

Plesae your advise since some of my staff can not work :(

Thanks,
Donny Christiaan.
