Jockey GTK is not polished in Lubuntu yet, even in Ubuntu doesn't work
very nice, so it's not really our problem. If you have a nVidia and want
to use the new Nouveau drivers, please, check this article, it's a
command line given help to install and test it and make it working with
Plymouth (it worked for me).

 Hello,

Long time I use xubuntu and ubuntu linux, some time ago I tried the new
lubuntu to me very much nice, because it is very simple, clear and very
quickly. I am very happy that lubuntu has few programs which gives the
freedom to choose the programs to the user need. Please Stay on this road.
My problem is to install the nvidia graphics card 9800gt. Standard procedure
through the automatic installation of nvidia drivers and does not work after
installing glx, kernel packages and restart the system will not working with
3D support. Please how to solve this problem? how do I install the nvidia
drivers to be fully operational 3D in lubuntu when a hw work automatic HW
 detection do not working?

Thank you very much for help! :)

I think that is good idea to subscribe to ubuntu geek. Here are 2 articles
about problems with nvidia cards on ubuntu 10.04. Check them:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-install-nvidia-drivers-manually-on-ubuntu-10-04-lucid-lynx.html
 and
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-fix-ubuntu-10-04-lts-lucid-blank-screen-at-startup.html.
They were very useful for me cause I had GT 240 card and this helped me.
Hope, it will help you too.

Regards, Mike.

Peppermintos is really nice indeed (it's lubuntu+mint+prism). It's
worth trying. Nice concept.

But, I'm not throwing in the towel on lubuntu :)

Thanks

Is it likely that we'll be seeing a Lubuntu Alpha 1 coming out with
the rest of the 'buntu 10.10 Alpha releases?

I sure hope so.  Lubuntu is what I've spent a long time looking for.
I see it as an all-purpose distro.  I put it on my AMD dual-core 4G
desktop box, thinking it was just to play with it, and I've rarely
 booted anything else since. :)

Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

 Nice job, folks!
