Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] trash can question

Thanks for your help. Zoltan Just create a new txt file called trash.desktop in the Desktop folder and paste in the following: Type=Application Icon=emptytrash Name=Trash Name[de]=Persönliches Verzeichnis Categories=FileManager;Utility;Core;GTK; Exec=pcmanfm trash:/// StartupNotify=true Terminal=false This will give you a trash icon on the desktop. But unfortunately the icon is fixed and won't change if there is something in the trash. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

This one works, too. [Desktop Entry] Type=Link Name=Trash URL=trash:/// Icon=user-trash PCManFM supports Type=Link On Sat, Dec 4, 2010 at 5:58 PM, Yorvyk yorvik.ubu...@googlemail.com wrote: On Sat, 4 Dec 2010 08:16:55 +0100 Zoltan Matlak matlakz...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, Is it possible to add trash can to desktop or to task bar? Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] trash can question
Thanks. Basically what you guys suggested is to create a shortcut to pcmanfm trash. This works. Basically the link looks like it's a real trash, but it doesn't behave like one. So there is no way to create a real trash can outside the file manager? Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] trash can question
And people say I can be straight to the point :P I've no idea how big a job it would be for pcman, but there have been a couple of times this has popped its head up. We have to accept that people are coming over from Win / Mac environments, and easing the transition is some thing we need to be aware of. If it could be added to the wish-list at least we can let people know that they are not being ignored and when time allows it will be looked into. I appreciate that there are far more important tasks that need to be carried out before we get to the wish-list. Regards, Phill. [Lubuntu-desktop] hajour
Hi good people, we always seek an understanding of what the ubuntu ethos is. We all have our own way of putting it when trying to explain to others, but https://wiki.ubuntu.com/hajour has summed it up in a short poem, which I'd like to share with you all. As English is not her 1st language and a lot is done via google translate it is not word perfect, but there is enough to understand what hajour means. Hajour brings in a person who will help in accessibility issues, in return I know we will have the patience and time to help her. I came in a community named Ubuntu. Unsure if I was good enough to help with anything Not really knowing where I ended up. There came a blanket of warmth and cordiality to me. caring, social and tolerancity. I did not know what came over me It was like i was coming home after a long journey And warmly was received by family. I personally, find that very touching as it is quite clearly from the heart. Thank-you to all that have helped her to date and to all those who will do so in the future, Phill. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
