[Lubuntu-desktop] 10.10 alternate ISO torrent problem

2011-03-01 Thread Yorvyk
There appears to be a problem with the above torrent. The tracker at
linuxtracker.org is giving an 'unregistered torrent' error.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] insert blank dvd

2011-03-01 Thread PCMan
The file brasero.desktop needs to contain MimeTypes=x-content/* to make this
work.
Please refer to freedesktop.org mime spec for x-content/ stuff.
It's one of the gnome-standards which are added to the so-call cross-desktop
freedesktop.org specs without conscensus. Currently only gnome/glib/gio
supports it but since we use glib/gio, we support it anyways.

When I insert a new disc PCManFM asks me what to do: use File-Roller (?) or
Nautilus CD Creator (I have both desktops). Is there any possibility to
include Brasero here? Or maybe it's an error in my installation?

[Lubuntu-desktop] Generic icon shown in Task bar window list

2011-03-01 Thread Yorvyk
As you can see from the attached pic. mtpaint is showing a generic icon in the
Task Bar Window List. The icon is correct elsewhere. Not sure what to record
a bug against. Galculator also does this as well.

It's probably because the window doesn't register an icon. It probably
lacks a line like :

gtk_window_set_icon(this_window,the_icon);

See also:
http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/unstable/GtkWindow.html#gtk-window-set-icon

I think it should be a trivial fix, or a good bug to work for people who
want to start to code and contribute ;-)

I think it's already the case. This is the content of the desktop file :
MimeType=application/x-cd-image;application/x-cdrdao-toc;application/x-cue;application/x-toc;audio/x-scpls;audio/x-ms-asx;audio/x-mp3-playlist;audio/x-mpegurl;application/x-brasero;x-content/audio-cdda;x-content/video-dvd;x-content/video-vcd;x-content/video-svcd;x-content/image-picturecd;

Great! Then I recommend that Lubuntu does this the Ubuntu way for
 the
gnome packs; we can (for now) keep all the language-pack-?? ones in,
 but
by default create Lubuntu LiveCD ISOs that only include
 language-pack-gnome-?? for:

en fr es xh pt de bn zh-hans

That's only 8, not 9, but that is what I see in the seed :) The ship
 seed has a few more

   hi ar ru ja

which I would guess are high priority languages if we do have space
 for
 their gnome packs.
I had that in mind. gnome pack are only necessary for a few
applications, so it should be a low priority (vs the basic packs). Let's
keep that list for now, not need to fullfil the CD now, we will do it
for the RC and the final release.

Speaking of using seeds... at some point I/we should change Lubuntu
LiveCD generation to be done using seeds and germinate... right?
Yes, you need to read the live file in the lubuntu seed repository :
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop/ubuntu-seeds/lubuntu.natty/view/head:/live

It's currently not up-to-date, but it should when it will be used :)

Depends: yelp into the gnumeric-doc binary package, rather than into
 the
 gnumeric package.
If I understand the bug right, yes.

If you think that will work, and will be accepted, then I can easily
make a debdiff and attach it to the bug report (or use bzr if gnumeric
uses bzr). It's a one-line change to debian/control either way, plus
 a
 debian/changelog entry :)
Sure ! Let me know when it's ready, I'll be glad to sponsor it :)
