Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] [12.04] Firefox instead of Chromium?
Epihany is pretty good since 3.0, very stable.Midori became pretty much an Elementary browser and looks a little odd now, but Epiphany is well integrated, it looks like a cute mini Firefox.I believe dependencies are like Midori.Epiphany used to be not as good as Midori but the GNOME-devs worked real hard, and it shows. With Epiphany we are 100% sure we have GTK3 and there are more developers then Midori has. If you try, don´t install epiphany but epiphany-browser, because epiphany is a game. :P -Glenn Date: Sat, 5 Nov 2011 19:57:02 -0200 From: gabrielper...@gmail.com To: amjja...@gmail.com CC: lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Subject: Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] [12.04] Firefox instead of Chromium? [Lubuntu-desktop] Rename LSC?
Hello everyone, today I came up with something.I think that if we rename Lubuntu Software Center to LXDE Software Center or maybe something catchy, other distros and developers will join.Other LXDE distro´s probably won´t switch to something Lubuntu branded, which is a shame. We might have Openbox, XFCE and Fluxbox joining if we come up with a catchy name, Midori isn´t named Gwebkit-browser for a reason, I guess. :P Thoughts? :P -Glenn de Groot ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Lubuntu-desktop] Application discussion for the Natty cycle
Hello everyone, we should make a start on the application discussion, I guess.Just to start, I have got some ideas. *Add gnome-alsamixerLubuntu lacks an easy gui way of changing sound levels, I know of alsamixer but it´s CLI and looks confusing IMHO.We could have both installed, or CLI lovers could install it after installing Lubuntu. This way I think everybody is happy. *Try to get Deadbeef in the repo and add itDeadbeef 0.4.2 came out a few weeks ago, and I noticed something interesting in the release notes. merged in DUMB 0.9.3 (mainly to satisfy debian lawyers) (http://deadbeef.sourceforge.net/) 0.4.3 is out now, which is a bugfix release. Can deadbeef be added to the repo´s now? -Glenn___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Hey, the Lubuntu-netbook interface is this right? : http://images.maketecheasier.com/2010/05/lubuntu-netbook-desktop.png my suggestion was to change it to a simplified/tweaked version of this: http://puppeee.com/files/img/screen2.jpg because this resembles the Ubuntu Netbook Edtion interface, which could be nice in two situations: 1. John searches for a lightweight alternative for the Ubuntu Netbook Edition, which is really slow on his old Eee pc 700. 2. Kate absolutely hates the new Unity netbook interface and wants the old interface back, but she does want 10.10 because of newer software in the repositories If you did not mean this, I am sorry.I did not completely understand your e-mail :P -Glenn CC: lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net From: gi...@ubuntu.com Subject: Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Change look of lxlauncher Date: Mon, 16 Aug 2010 15:55:33 +0200 To: glenn_de_gr...@hotmail.com Hi, We have a session (Lubuntu-Netbook) with this interface.
