Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Adding powerpc ISO for 12.04 ?

2011-11-23 Thread James King
Count me in as well. I have a spare G4 Mac Mini that would be perfect for
testing.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] [12.04] Firefox instead of Chromium?

2011-11-09 Thread James King
What are the chances of having an installer that gives you the choice
to install either one? Maybe even add Midori to the mix? It doesn't
matter to me either way: both are fast enough on my netbook and each
continues to improve.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] www.lxde.org is down!

2011-10-28 Thread James King
When you get a DNS server failure, check to see that popular websites like
Google.com and Yahoo.com load. If they don't load either, then the problem
is probably on your end.

You can always experiment by changing your Primary and Secondary DNS from
"automatic" to either Google's DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS
(208.67.220.220,208.67.222.222) and seeing if they work.

I use OpenDNS and am very happy with the speed and reliability of it. It's
free. (Google is free, too.)
