No, I want to say that now the behavior is normal (my screen doesn't
lock, with or without screensaver), excepted when my pc set in sleep
mode : after sleep, my screen is locked. And I would want that my screen
never locks. Do you understand ? I'm really sorry for my bad English...

Are you saying that you disabled the screensaver and your screen is
locked after some period of time?

If that is what you mean then No, it doesn't happen with me.

Sometimes, thinking about the simplest step/solution could be
helpful.
Please, try to check that option Lock Screen After from
xscreensaver main window and wait until the screensaver starts.
After that, move your mouse or press any key and type your
password, to go screensaver and uncheck Lock Screen After
option. Let's see what could happen.

As for the two processes, I was just mentioning what I do have
and that could be irreverent in your case.
I think it's a bug but maybe I'm wrong.

Hello Pierre,

I'm glad to know that. Please let me know if the same issue
will be back again.

As for the Screensaver, while I was checking, I found weird
thing:

http://i43.tinypic.com/2m2jdcj.jpg

There are two Processes of xscreensaver and both of them are
working so when you stop it and go to your desktop, the
other one will work and take you back to the screensaver so
you need to stop it once more. However, Lock Screen in my
case works ONLY when I force it. I unchecked that option
from xscreensaver :

http://i39.tinypic.com/6nr2c1.jpg

In my case, Lock Screen After is unchecked and I have no
issues even with the two processes of xscreensaver.

Not really sure how to fix your issue?

Did you manage to fix it?

Thanks!

made sure that Lock Screen option was unchecked : my screen still locks.

But are we in the same case ? I'm talking about the fact that my
screen locks after sleep ; maybe it is a normal behavior ? Without
sleeping, I am not sure that my screen locks.

 Hello Pierre,

I'm glad to know that. Please let me know if the same issue will be
 back again.

As for the Screensaver, while I was checking, I found weird thing:

 http://i43.tinypic.com/2m2jdcj.jpg

There are two Processes of xscreensaver and both of them are working
so when you stop it and go to your desktop, the other one will work and
take you back to the screensaver so you need to stop it once more.
 However,
Lock Screen in my case works ONLY when I force it. I unchecked that option
 from xscreensaver :

 http://i39.tinypic.com/6nr2c1.jpg

In my case, Lock Screen After is unchecked and I have no issues even
with the two processes of xscreensaver.

Not really sure how to fix your issue?

Did you manage to fix it?

 Thanks!

Sometimes, thinking about the simplest step/solution could be helpful.
Please, try to check that option Lock Screen After from xscreensaver
main window and wait until the screensaver starts. After that, move your
mouse or press any key and type your password, to go screensaver and
uncheck Lock Screen After option. Let's see what could happen.

As for the two processes, I was just mentioning what I do have and that
could be irreverent in your case.
I think it's a bug but maybe I'm wrong.

Hi Pierre,

You welcome!

I had a similar issue and a friend of mine has suggested few steps that
apparently fixed the issue. There you go:

1- gksudo leafpad /etc/pm/config.d/config

2- SUSPEND_MODULES=your_driver

As per this:

*-network
   description: Wireless interface
   physical id: 1
   bus info: usb@1:5
   logical name: wlan1
   serial: 5c:d9:98:9e:57:ae

   configuration: broadcast=yes *driver=r8712u* ip=192.168.1.54
 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bg

SUSPEND_MODULES=*r8712u*

3- Be sure to proofread carefully, save and close leafpad.

If the above steps did not help, please let me know so we can try another
steps.

Sorry but what do you mean by:

Otherwise, Lock Screen After is unchecked...

Sorry for the late reply, I had problems with my Internet Connection (ISP
issue).

Thanks!

Hello Pierre,

Would you please post here the output of:

sudo lshw -C network

After that, I'll write to you the steps you need to follow. I do have a USB
Wireless Adapter too and used to have many issues but not anymore.

Also, I have unchecked the option to lock the screen in XscreenSaver, but
my screen still locks (and the screenlock is not very beautiful).

Just make sure Lock Screen After is unchecked/not selected.

[Lubuntu-desktop] A few problems with Lubuntu 11.10

2011-11-24 Thread Pierre Gobin

Hi,

With Lubuntu 11.10, my wifi USB key is disconnected after sleep, and I
have to unplug and plug the key again. A solution ? Maybe it is a
problem for Ubuntu in general.

Also, I have unchecked the option to lock the screen in XscreenSaver,
but my screen still locks (and the screenlock is not very beautiful).

Thanks to all,
Pierre GOBIN
