Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Compiz activation
Hi Steve, I'm not a 'mad' Compiz fan, and was some what surprised to find in the beta testing of 10.04 that it most certainly did run on my laptop. As I'm not a great fan of eye-candy I've not really 'messed' with it. But, as there has been a request, I guess it could live along with other not supported stuff. Just as long as it does not take time from the development team, they have much more important things to be getting on with. Regards, Phill. And yes, you can run Compiz in Lubuntu by replacing Openbox with it, using something like "compiz --replace", or even "compiz" alone, since compiz defaults to --replace behaviour in Ubuntu. To revert back, you can probably run "openbox --replace", or otherwise killall compiz, then run "openbox". -- Kind regards, Chow Loong Jin signature.asc Description: PGP signature ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Compiz activation
I heard someone do this but seriously, I do not think its possible. LXDE uses Openbox. That is a window manager. Compiz is also a window manager, so the two replaces each other. One shot you can try is the 0.9 Compiz++ branch. (Or wait until it comes out). That'll support stand-alone window managing, so it'll work I guess with lxde.
