I had no doubt about that but I'm not receiving iso-testing notifications as usual. In fact I now notice that there is an Ubuntu live image ready for testing, but no notification. I'm just double-checking in case something is wrong at Ubuntu QA ;^) And I hate to start testing with an incomplete or outdated image that would only waste the devs' time, or anything of that nature. --- On Mon, 8/29/11, Julien Lavergne gi...@ubuntu.com wrote: From: Julien Lavergne gi...@ubuntu.com Subject: Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu iso-testing To: lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Date: Monday, August 29, 2011, 12:18 PM On 08/29/2011 06:44 PM, Lance wrote: I noticed from Launchpad activity that some iso-testing began several hours ago so I've checked the iso-tracker a few times and there is an Lubuntu live image: You can see all the ISO available by following this link : http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/build/lubuntu/all It should work for all releases in the future :) Regards, Julien Lavergne ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Ditto, I just tried to grab the i386 from them. The links at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily-live/current/ have the set, are they okay to use or do we await the arrival of iso on the qa site? Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu iso-testing
Lance, As you are familiar with iso testing, I do hope that you do not think I am not 'putting on you' to help out on this. I don't want to repeat and further question the qa team about this (I am a member, but a very new one!). Feel free to poke me at any time, it is a fairly steep learning curve for me for what to do when builds do not well, build! Many thanks for your continued assistance on this. @Jonathan, as I am still new to VM's, can the system I have test out the mac ones? Regards, Phill. Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu iso-testing (and PowerPC)
On 08/29/2011 01:02 PM, Phill Whiteside wrote: @Jonathan, as I am still new to VM's, can the system I have test out the mac ones? In a word, no. You would need a way to emulate a PowerPC Mac; that's not something Virtualbox does. To do that, you would need something more like PearPC from http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/ I have never tried it... interesting idea if you have the time and inclination to investigate it! For some classes of bugs, I'd be a bit worried about determining whether a bug report was a bug in the emulator, or a bug in the Lubuntu PowerPC image -- but may be worth a try. BTW, for a way to sort of go in the other direction (PowerPC hardware or a very fast monder Intel-based PC, Linux OS, but you want to run old classic MacOS apps) you can use SheepSaver http://sheepshaver.cebix.net/ -- this is currently far outside Lubuntu's world, but if we get a bunch of people using Lubuntu on PowerPC who are converting from MacOS, and want to run a few of their favourite old apps, it might be handy :) Jonathan ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
