Still testing! Booted system again. When Samsung BIOS screen appeared
again, pressed down both SHIFT keys. Used GRUB to edit the parameters to be
passed to the kernel - removed the parameters 'quiet' and 'splash'. System
booted, with plenty of text messages (as expected). As the system continued
booting, there was _no_ screen corruption. I logged in OK and am about to
perform other tests.

Re: [lubuntu-users] [lubuntu-devel] Call for testing: Artful Aardvark Final Beta

2017-09-27 Thread Ian Bruntlett
Hi Simon,

Downloaded this iso - artful-alternate-i386.iso - and put on a USB flash
drive. Checked its integrity
ba4544fa8728c195505660e6980e7123 artful-alternate-i386.iso

Installed it on this hardware with no errors:-

Samsung NC10 Netbook - hawking
Intel Atom N270, 1.66GHz, 32-bit, 2GiB RAM, 149.05 GiB hard drive, no
optical drive, Ethernet and WiFi connections, lubuntu typically installed
via USB flashdrive
https://gist.github.com/21b61903871ee685fc79

Rebooted. When booting, I saw a dark blue screen with a smear of white
pixels on it. Eventually reached the login screen. Unable to login because
of junk on screen. 80% of the left hand side of the screen was black with
two smears of pixels - one white, one blue. The remaining 20% of the screen
on the right hand side was OK.

Because of the junk on screen I was unable to login and perform further
tests.

Is there a launchpad page you'd like me to put this information on?

BW,

Ian
