Re: [lubuntu-users] Drivers for Brother printer/scanner DCP 7010L

I already contacted Brother customer support, however they were unable to answer my request. As soon as I plug in my printer via USB port into laptop, the system does not recognise this device. For sure lubuntu doesn't ship with cups sudo apt-get install cups cups-filters cups-pdf Should work, according to this page: https://www.openprinting.org/printer/Brother/Brother-DCP-7010 Does scanning work with simple scan? Re: [lubuntu-users] Downloading YouTube videos on lubuntu.

I was hoping to put something together using lubuntu on an old PC tower with the hope of him not getting rootkitted. He'll need something with a GUI. I am also trying to sort out something for myself, using Ubuntu to download YouTube video clips. Typically programming stuff. I've done some research and discovered that there is a Python programme called youtube-dl available from the Synaptic Package Manager. Any recommendations/suggestions before I install it? (I have done a backup of data files this afternoon). I am comfortable with the bash command line. I have tried jdownloader2, quite heavy but works fine and can extract also only audio, or videodownloadhelper that is a firefox extension. -- Lubuntu-users mailing list Lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/lubuntu-users
Re: [lubuntu-users] Installation error on P4 256 MB RAM

I'm sorry i don't know what's wrong But if you can i think that installing with a little disk image within virtualbox on a newer pc (without creating swap, and using e.g. a 7-8gb disk image) and after using dd or clonezilla to transfer the installed system could be a viable option (in fact it will be even a lot faster, i think). When installed, use the shell command $ VBoxManage internalcommands converttoraw Lubuntu.vdi Lubuntu.dd if you want to create an image that you can write with dd (e.g. running system rescue cd on the pc, mounting e.g. an external disk drive with the Lubuntu.dd file and doing dd if=Lubuntu.dd of=/dev/sda bs=16M oflag=direct Bye. -- Lubuntu-users mailing list Lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/lubuntu-users
