Is there anything native to Linux like that? I see Live Wallpaper[2]
but it may not do the floating watermark.

OP, sorry I don't know anything about WINE. Hopefully someone who does
can answer your question. You'll probably get more help on
ubuntuforums.org since your question is more
general about Linux, not LXDE. You'll find people using WINE on all
the distros.

Mark:

I use a package called: gphotoframe

You can get it at:

https://code.google.com/archive/p/gphotoframe/

This provides an automatic picture on my desktop, showing pictures from
my photo collection at random (configured to change every 8 seconds).
It doesn't do a watermark that I know of. I do auto-start it.

I use the Kindle reader on Linux, using Wine. It doesn't auto-start (I
double-click the launcher when I want it).

The command part of the desktop launcher for the Kindle reader (the
exec=  part), is:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/aere/.wine" wine C:Program\\
FilesAmazonKindleKindle.exe

The path part of the launcher is:

/home/aere/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Amazon/Kindle/content

Maybe that will give you some clues to use in making it auto-start.

Hi Mark,

There are screenlets in linux. They need a compositor in the graphics
system. This works well in newer computers, while many old computers,
that we keep alive with Lubuntu cannot manage it.

I may be wrong, but I don't think screenlets work well with Lubuntu's
LXDE desktop environment as it is. I think you need to add some program
package like compiz or something like that for that purpose.

Best regards
Nio

What does this app do?

Hello,
I am new to Lubuntu have read as much as I can about this but
still have not mastered it. I understand very little.
Custom Desktop Logo is a little app that does not install as far
as I can work out ,just runs from the exe when I want to use it.
I would like it to run on start up.
I include a couple of pics to show where it is and what it looks
like when it is running.
Could someone give me the command for the terminal or tell me in
simple language what I need to do please to get it to start when
I boot so I can just click the little lemon icon when I need to
use it.
I am a recent escapee from microsoft and find Lubuntu for me by
far the best replacent for widows which when I have learned a
little more I am looking forward to booting into touch.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.
