This right here seems strange to me. Why would you hit the power button?
Are you trying to turn it off? By default (see /etc/systemd/login.conf)
it is set to poweroff the machine. So xscreensaver wouldn't even be
involved. It's possible the desktop might show briefly before plymouth
kicks in, but it's not like you can get back to it.

Maybe you're trying to describe some relationship between locking,
screen blanking, and the actual screensaver turning on? How do you have
xscreensaver and lxqt-power-management configured?

Nope, probably an oversight though suspend/hibernate is often a source
of trouble depending on the state of the kernel, other hardware, etc.
I've seen some people say they've never had problems while I've seen
people report decades of trying to get it to work on a vast landscape of
distros with no luck. YMMV.
