[LUTE] any luteplayers in Slovenia?
I have no clue yet about the festival in Slovenia, but a little web searching helped me to know at least where I will play (if I had any idea about the geography of the country ...): Monday 6 July, 20:30 Kum, Cerkev sv. Neze / Church of St. Agnes Tuesday 7 July 2009, 20:30 Dobrnie, Cerkev sv. Jurija / Church of St. George Wednesday 8 July 2009, 20:30 Cerovo, Tabor Cerovo It's in the Festival Seviqc Brezice (www.seviqc-brezice.si) I'll be there with counter tenor Sytse Buwalda, with a programme of our latest CD; 'Songs of Life and Death". That's Dowland to Purcell and especially what's in between. hope to see some of you there David -- *** David van Ooijen davidvanooi...@gmail.com www.davidvanooijen.nl *** To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html

Thanks Omer! :-) Your mail is practically the _only_ comment - ever! - of my version, which was also my "practical performance version" that I've used many, many times while accompanying a counter tenor doing this piece. Normally I played my "Ritornello" in the beginning and between the verses. Usually I did not play the solo after the 4th verse. But we did a very big number of the final phrases... ;-) I have been calling this piece the "Italian Eurovision Song Contest Winner of the Year 1624"... ;-) And my bass line of the song should be the same as M's original. The continuo numbers are very self made. And BTW, my numbers _above_ the staff indicate my intended _top line_ of the continuo. I guess I have not mentioned that before? Yeah, and my G-minor transpostion "ms." of the original D-minor is still in page http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/wikla/mus/10_courseLute/ Best, Arto To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
