You may have a look at here too: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/LXQt:_Suggested_Applications#Text_Editor I personaly prefere enhancing/adapting existing projects, if possible. A distro needs well maintained projects for a long time. [Lxde-list] LXQT Text Editor
Hello everyone, I've been looking through the LXQt project lately, both for use and maybe contribution. I've written several C++/Qt5 applications, primarily just as hobby projects, and I have contributed in very minor ways to a few KDE applications. Anyway, I noticed is that the project doesn't seem to have its own text/code editor- though it has a lot of other components. I'm curious to know if there's an interest for one? If so, I have a text/code/rich text editor that may fit the projects needs. Its been an on-and-off hobby project for some time now. It uses the KDE syntax highlighting library, KDBusAddons, and supports things like multi-document editing, auto-indent, projects, some basic find/replace (though this needs a little work), and so forth. It only uses tier-1 KDE libraries, I was careful not to get it too tied into the KDE ecosystem. Lately, I've been trying to clean it up a little bit and add some improvements. You can check it out here: [https://github.com/patrickf2000/CppEditor](https://github.com/patrickf2000/CppEditor/tree/master).
