I am not sure about the LyX version in these tarballs. Please find attached
what a screenshot of lyx.rc says to me. Should I package it as
"LyX-235-Installer-2..." or "LyX-2351-Installer-2..."?

New 2.3.5-1 Tarballs

2020-06-03 Thread Richard Kimberly Heck
Because of my screwup with the date and some missing example files, we
need to rebuild the binaries from new tarballs. I decided to go ahead
and rename the tarball, too, for safety.

The new tarballs are here:

http://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/lyx-2.3/

as usual.

Indeed, it is a very efficient release. Only one swap needed. I hope
they used std::swap to get move semantics.

 Hi Riki,
I am curious about this. Did you apply a permutation to get the new date.
;-) There are the same digits but in a different order. :-)

Thank you for the new release.

OK. As there's been no official release, I'm not going to change the
package number.

I’d have no problem to repackage the Mac application.

This was working before, I thought. But yes, I'll grab that binary.

FYI, I do the NSIS build on Windows. But not for long, I hope...

Actually, the date is wrong, of course, as a user pointed out.

I hate to ask people to repackage just for this, but I probably have to
do so?

There is something strange with the pdfview. If a user clicks on preview
(CTRL + R), pdfview is supposed to close an already open adobe reader
window with that preview document (which is in a temp folder there) and
open a new window automatically. With your installer it does not work, it
then just says "unable to write to file.pdf". I'm not sure how exactly you
compiled the pdfview, but I can see that it is missing the embedded
"System.dll" (by opening it with 7zip as an archive), maybe it's because
Windows/Linux NSIS cross platform compatibility is not so great (I have
seen someone stating that on the web somewhere). If not too much trouble,
could you please find the pdfview.exe from my drive folder and replace it
in your installer?
