Thanks, this is helpful. Indeed exporting to 2.3.x it works fine with
2.3.x and fails with current master. Because I'm on a newer compiler, I
can only compile back to master as of late 2020 and I still see the bug
there as well. So I can't bisect it. Hopefully someone else can take a
look.

Re: ARM vs Universal Etf

2024-01-14 Thread Eberhard W Lisse
When I export from 2.4 RC1 to LuaLaTeX this line triggers the error

   \lstinputlisting[showstringspaces=false,caption={/opt/local,
/usr/local}/etc/my.cnf},label={mac:my.cnf}]{my.cnf}

whereas it should actually look like

  \lstinputlisting[showstringspaces=false,caption={/opt/local,
/usr/local}/etc/my.cnf,label={mac:my.cnf}]{my.cnf}

in other words RC1 adds '}' to

   {/opt/local, /usr/local}/etc/my.cnf

If I add an open brace '{' to the caption in RC1 ie something like

   {/opt/local, /usr/local}/etc/my.cnf{

It balances the closing brace.

Unfortunately the only system where I have 2.3.7 running is my practice
iMac which I have brought in for a routine blowjob :-)-O so I can only
look at this in a week or so.

But it should be easy to lyx2lyx it to 544, open it with 2.3.7 and see
if this does same.

Re: ARM vs Universal Etf

2024-01-13 Thread Eberhard W Lisse
I downloaded and it runs without issues on on my 32GB Intel Macbook Pro
13" and my 24GB M2 MacBook 13".

It compiles my "handbook" (25 child files, 550 line Makefile) on the M2
in 137 seconds and on the Intel in 383 :-)-O

I did something like

   for i in *.lyx
   do
  cp $i $i.2-3
  /Applications/LyX.app//Contents/Resources/lyx2lyx/lyx2lyx \
 $i.2-3 -o $i
   done

before the run and synched both laptops.

There was one single issue, I had a pair of braces '{}' in a figure
caption and it did not like that. 2.3.7 didn't mind. Should I look at
an MWE and send that in?

The idea is to translate the handbook into docbook and then into epub
when 2.4.0 is out. Will advise results.

So far so good, thank all of you so much for your work.

I don’t know where you’re looking, Eberhard…

This is the disk image I’ve produced and published to Riki:
$ file
/Volumes/Software/LyX/lyx-release/LyX-2.4.0~RC1+qt5-x86_64-arm64-cocoa.dmg
/Volumes/Software/LyX/lyx-release/LyX-2.4.0~RC1+qt5-x86_64-arm64-cocoa.dmg:
bzip2 compressed data, block size = 100k

This is the LyX binary in the mounted image:

$ file /Volumes/LyX-2.4.0~RC1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx
/Volumes/LyX-2.4.0~RC1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx: Mach-O universal binary with
2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64]
/Volumes/LyX-2.4.0~RC1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx (for architecture x86_64):
Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
/Volumes/LyX-2.4.0~RC1/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx (for architecture arm64):
Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64

Ok?
