Graceful handling of pref conversion failures
Hi, when pref conversion routines fail you are greeted on terminal with LyXRC.cpp (260): Conversion failed for /home/lyx/.lyx/preferences Warning: Could not read configuration file Error while reading the configuration file preferences. Please check your installation. and no GUI response. This must be totally confusing for users who just click on icons, because launch will fail without any visible feedback for them. I am not sure what should be our response - just issue warn dialog and exit or launch lyx with generic settings and some warning on top of that. Ideas?
