For Ubuntu testers alpha2 packages are available on the 'Development' PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~lyx-devel/+archive/ubuntu/daily

The installation of the 'lyx2.4pre' pre-release packages is
independent of the stable 'lyx' installation, so you can have the
pre-release and stable packages installed side-by-side. They shouldn't
interfere with each other.

Please report if you have any issues with the packages.

   one small note to help poor packagers, like me in this role :-) , it would
be nice for the package to have a consistent name between releases.

For alpha1 the directory was called "lyx-2.4.0-alpha1" (OK and the usual
procedure) while for alpha 2 it was called "lyx-2.4.0dev".

Hi Riki,

Yes, I am working on this right now. P


Uploaded the Windows Installers as usual. Everything worked out 
perfectly, no files missing.

I believe it will take next two weeks to settle down all the issues
related to epub. It might be better to just release alpha2 as it
was and be silent about the horse under the hood now.

added to the Makefile, so this won't work with autotools.
