First, I am on a Solaris system with no root privileges. Second, the use of the KDE (which I am running) doesn't help. I assume that this is a problem of xforms. Their fonts seem to be hardcoded. So my questions are: Am I missing something? Can the menu fonts be rescaled (especially in something which I would call a text widget)? Do the dependent widgets resize correspondingly? BTW. On a 17" monitor with 1152x900 resolution, everything looks perfect. Re: fonts
Generally speaking you can improve the look of all the fonts in X. This How-To is very helpful especially for large displays. http://www.frii.com/~meldroc/Font-Deuglification.html Chris -- Talk is cheap because the supply vastly exceeds the demand.
list of figures
How can I specify a shorter description to appear in the table of figures list, if the caption in the caption environment is too long to be useful? I think this can be done easily in latex, but can't see any documentation as to how it can be done in lyx. thanks yan
Re: FTP for LyX 1.0.2 rpm for RH5!
Ben, Perhaps you can append "rh5.2" to the release of the rpm I made, and upload the binary to ftp.lyx.org. What I mean is, change the release line in the spec file to Release: 1rh5.2 and then build the rpm. Mate
references in multi-part documents
Many times in multi-part documents you have to use references across different parts of the document. The current cross-reference support does not support this feature, the insert-reference window has a Name field which in my case is not active. Is there anyway to insert cross-section references with lyx? (at the moment I have to use a dummy label, insert the reference and delete the label Panos
Extra styles - How to include them
Try setting your TEXINPUTS to point to the directory where the addition style files are (in addition to the standard places) and the do Options->Reconfigure from within LyX. LyX and LaTeX should then be able to use those additional style files. ---Kayvan -- Kayvan Aghaiepour Sylvan | Proud husband of | Father to Sylvan Associates, Inc.| Laura Isabella Sylvan | Katherine Yelena (8/8/89) http://www.isp.net/~kayvan || Robin Gregory (2/28/92)
reLyX problem still with 1.0.3pre2
Just tried to import a latex file with the latest pre-release and I'm still getting the same problem. It starts to work but then the terminal from which I called LyX is filled with the following message: Got nothing when argument expected at /usr/local/bin/../share/lyx/reLyX/Text/TeX.pm line 838, chunk 330. and I have to kill the process. This is on a Red Hat 6.0 system with teTeX 0.9. Adam Huffman
Extra styles - How to include them
Hi, I want to use e.g. apacite.sty - but it is not yet installed. Is it possible to tell LyX where to find additional LaTeX-styles on a Linux-system? (I don't have root-permissions on this system!)
