WYSIWYG LaTeX Class designer for WYSIWYM LyX?

1999-06-05 Thread Maarten Afman

Hello,

I successfully used LyX for a medium size scientific document; it works
pretty well!

However there are problems with the article class and LyX / teTeX does
not seem to have better classes for my purpose.

So I want to create my very own classes.. Now I would figure there is
some (wywsiwyg) class designer out there to create the lay-outs and so!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

A large number of installed systems work by fiat. That is, they work

Texts around figures ?

1999-06-05 Thread Julián Muñoz Domínguez

I am not able to reproduce this feature, exposed in the "Extended Lyx
Features".

I follow all the steps, but nothing happens. The figure is placed as
allways, and there is no space reserved for the figure in the paragraph
with the floatflt feature enabled. Maybe that's incompatible with
specifying the float placement in the "Document Layout" popup ?

I have RedHat 5.2 + Lyx 1.0.1 (rpm).

Thanks !

Julián

? Longtable and rotate ?

1999-06-05 Thread Julián Muñoz Domínguez

Hello, I'd be very gratefull if someone could explain:

Is it possible to use the features "Longtable" and "rotate 90º" at the
same time ?

In the "table layout" popup, I don't understand the meaning of "Longtable"
options (are they documented ?).

Thanks !

try the package sidewaystable:
\begin{sidewaystable}
... your table
\end{sidewaystable}

longtable makes only sense in multicolumn-mode, because it's a table
over
all columns.

choose Insert float-figure
insert the ps-picture
choose Layout-paragraph-more-foatflt AND the width for the
   text, eg. 50%
close all windows

Now the text you write behind the float-figure will be on
the left side of the picture.
