Figure on title page

2001-03-30 Thread EagleIce

Hello all!

I've been trying to put in a figure/picture on the first page, under the
Title, in Book Class, Two Sides, but it just doesn't work.
Is this at all possible and in that case how?

Thank's in advance,

ei

tabular with table float

2001-03-30 Thread Jörg Haug

I have a problem to insert a tabular in the float table. Now I found in
the mail archive that John Adcock had the same problem in January.
Is this a bug in Lyx ?
If i insert the tabular I get the tabular between Table: and the caption
text. I solved this by changing caption style to standard, insert the
tabular, return, change caption text to caption style.
Now it works here for me (on WinNT) but if I open the file on my Linux
machine I have a lot of lyx commands in the float environmet but no
table.
Any ideas ?

Hi.

I have found the answer to my question about how to make bibliography part
after each chapter in a multipart document appear as a section* but not
chapter*. I have to remove the extra options I used in document popup.
"bibtotoc" is the one. Then add latex lines
"\addcontentsline{toc}{section}{numberline{}WhatEverNameYouWant}".

The part "...numberline{}" helps to put an indent otherwise the toc looks
ugly.

Hope this is helpful.

btw: I have subscribed to many mailing lists, this is a weird one. I don't
get any email passing on the lists! I have to go to the webpage to see the
archive. Is there a way to change the behavior of the list?

Thanks.

that's right, i never saw that it should be placed under the title.
you can also try a table with two rows and one column as title.
than you can put the figure as you like.

2001-03-30 Thread Zailong Bian

Thanks.

Spellchecker & composed words

2001-03-30 Thread Jürgen Spitzmüller

Hi all,

According to the archieves, this seems not to be a widespreaded problem.

My spellchecker [1] has problems with composed words.
An example:
Replace: Begrifflichkeit
With: Begrifflich+keit

If I chose "replace", there will be inserted "Begrifflich+keit" (with
the "+").
As there are a lot of this composed words in my documents, I would be
grateful for any hints.

tabular with table float

2001-03-30 Thread Jörg Haug

I have a problem to insert a tabular in the float table. Now I found in
the mail archive that John Adcock had the same problem in January.
Is this a bug in Lyx ?
If i insert the tabular I get the tabular between Table: and the caption
text. I solved this by changing caption style to standard, insert the
tabular, return, change caption text to caption style.
Now it works here for me (on WinNT) but if I open the file on my Linux
machine I have a lot of lyx commands in the float environmet but no
table.
Any ideas ?

Thanks Jörg

I think the package "fancyhdr" might be your friend here. This allows you to
configure headers and footers as you would like them to appear.
Herbert has the details on how to configure it, just have a look at

open the tablefloat as usual. now
1. hit return if you want the caption under the table, insert table
   and insert caption
2. insert caption and hit return, if you like the table under the
   caption. insert the table.

if you insert the caption first and want the table above, go to
the beginning of the caption and hit return.

LyX: /home/user/some_directory/another_directory/filename.lyx ?

Put
\usepackage{graphics}
in the preamble,

then (in ERT)

\begin{picture}(0,0)(-330,-210)
\includegraphics{../whatever.eps}

just after your title - you will need to fiddle with the coordinates to

You don't need to comment/uncomment the bibtex inset, just add some latex code
for that.
For example, put the following lines in the preamble of the main document

\let\oldbibliographystyle=\bibliographystyle
\let\oldbibliography=\bibliography
\let\bibliographystyle=\@gobble
\let\bibliography=\@gobble

and before the bibtex inset of the main document put

{\let\bibliographystyle=\oldbibliographystyle
\let\bibliography=\oldbibliography

and put } after the inset.

tkbibtex does allow insertion of multi-key cite command:
You need to select all the keys you want to insert (by holding the ctrl key

you can also try a table with two rows and one column as title.
