Lyx 1.2.0 problem
Hello, I built lyx-1.2.0 under mandrake 8.2 (with xforms-0.88). It was perfect. The figure rendering was nice, everything's OK. But, while I was scrolling through the document, at some points, the scrolling jump immediatly at the beginning of the document. I start lyx in debug mode (with all the flags) and, in the debug list, I can see the scroll actions and, just before the jump at the top of the document, I can see a converter starting to convert a figure. This problem is reproductible and it happens also when all figures are converted (indeed, some figure are re-converted). Your sincerely, Yann COLLETTE
CJK-LyX-1.2.0
Hello, Since there's been no official announcement of lyx-1.2.0 yet, I cannot announce CJK-LyX-1.2.0 now, right? So, this is for those who want to try CJK-LyX-1.2.0 before the announcement? Anyhow, you can download "them" at the usual ftp site, ftp://stone.phys.pusan.ac.kr/pub/CJK-LyX ---cghan
LyX and OpenBSD 3.0
Until recently LyX was included as in the list of packages for OpenBSD 3.0 (lyx-1.1.6fix4.tgz). I can not seem to find it. Does anyone in this list know where I can get lyx for OpenBSD, or am I going to have to get adventerous and compile it from the source? Kent Kostuk
I can't install new dokument classes
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi friends and lyx users I'm using LYX 1.1.6fix4 with SuSE 8.0. I tried a dozen times to install new Document Classes , following step by step the instructions of the customization docs. The TEXMFLOCAL, TEXFM are set correctly, texhash produces the ls-R. But reconfigure is not finding the new classes. I tried it with the example from the customization doc, chapter 6.2.2 (rename, and modify a class), and with the SuSE book class. What can I do? Thank you very much! Exercise/Problem environment in AMS-book
How does one use the Exercise or Problem environment in AMS-book? It doesn't seem to work like the enumerate environent. If I choose the problem environment, type a problem, and then hit RETURN at the end of the problem statement, I don't get a new problem number. Thanks in advance for your help! Importing tex file!
Hi there, I started using lyx for only one weak ago. I have generated API documentation for Java package using com.c2_tech..doclets, that produces the output in Latex format (.tex file). However, I tried to import the api.tex file, the generated .tex file, using (File -> Import Latex), it gives an error Error while executing reLyX -f 'api.tex' I couldn't figure out how play around with this Error. Any helps/hints are highly appreciated. Thanks.
long tables at the end of a ejour2 article
Hi I want to add three long tables at the end of an artcliee written in the ejour2 class. When I add these three (or more) tables there is problm with the first and second. The first is ok, then ejour prints "This article was authored in LYXetc" then the second follows right after without a pagebreak, even though there is not enough place on the page, and hence cuts half of the table. Then on the next page table 3 comes, and the 4 comes on the next page as they should. Have anyone an answer how to get sorted this problem without rewriting ejour2 ? Two questions from a new user
Hello, I'm new to both LyX and LaTeX therefore please forgive me if the questions are too obvious ! --- 1 --- I'd like to use some features of amsTeX like the theorems environment for example but (and have these environments appear in the pop-up in the toolbar) BUT I prefer to use the normal book (say) class for the document overall structure. Without LyX, I would do something like : \documentclass[12pt,a4paper,english,french]{book} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{amsthm} %% etc ... How is it possible to do such a thing WITHIN LyX while still having all the environements in the toolbar pop-up and using latex code at least as possible ? --- 2 --- I'm french and I'd like to do it all in french. But when I choose the amsbook class, LyX seem to automatically produce this LaTeX code : %% Textclass specific LaTeX commands. \numberwithin{section}{chapter} \theoremstyle{plain} \newtheorem{thm}{Theorem}[section] \numberwithin{equation}{section} %% Comment out for sequentially-numbered \numberwithin{figure}{section} %% Comment out for sequentially-numbered \theoremstyle{plain} \newtheorem*{thm*}{Theorem} \theoremstyle{plain} \newtheorem*{lem*}{Lemma} %%Delete [thm] to re-start numbering Although it is nowhere in the LaTeX preambule as LyX shows me in the menu Format/Preambule, it _does_ appear in the preambule of my exported LaTeX file. What I'd like to do, is to substitute "Theorem" for "Théorème" and "Lemma" for "Lemme". How can I do this from within LaTeX ? Thank you ! none swap
Hello all LyXers, I am facing a very strange problem here: Everytime I start LaTeX from inside of LyX-1.1.6fix4 to display my text in gv 3.5.8-13 nothings happens except a notice at the status bar at the bottom: command is executed: "none swap foo.ps ". So no view of output seems to be possible! This happens to help-docs as my own files as well ! Ghostscript 6.51-16 and ghostscript-fonts 5.50-3 are installed. Furthermore: When trying the same procedure from inside of LyX to display own files in the path /home/thomas/mydocs/arbeit/artikel/latest/ LaTeX is complaining about unacceptable whitespaces in path name. Does anyone have an idea how to manage this.? Thomas

Well, I don't dare to argue against you, because you know the internals better than me ;-) It was you after all who created the function, while I only moved it into document. But actually, it seems not to be saved (at least my test did not save it). So is this a bug? > And I think the preamble should be a new tab of the > document layout popup. Agreed. I could even have a go if others don't object on this. Regards, Juergen > JMarc
