I have experienced that I don't get error messages when sending mails to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (instead of lyx-users). Maybe you mistyped

Btw, note that you could copy the default.ui file to a place of your
own, name it 'paul.ui', and add such a line to the Edit menu yourself.

You'd have to point LyX to this modified UI by adjusting
Preferences-Interface-UserInterfaceFile.

Dear list,
I have to put a pdf-file to a BSCW-server.
The way with font (Schrift) default produces nearly unreadable text.
So I use pslatex and create the pdf-file with: export - pdf (pdflatex).
The text is readable.
But the german ß (scharf s) is replaced by SS.
Any idea to produce a good readable text in pdf without this problem?
I use Lyx 1.3.3  on a SuSE 9.0

I'm not familiar with this package, but the general procdure in LyX is 
to go to LayoutDocumentPreamble and add the line

\usepackage{name-of-your-package}

This will allow you to use any commands the package provides (though 
this will require entering raw LaTeX).  Some packages do not require any 
extra commands (e.g. \usepackage{pandora} will automatically change your 
fonts to the Pandora fonts).
