Just a side question: is there some indirect way of setting lmodern as the font of a document, with LyX? Set default font in layout-document \usepackage{lmodern} in preamble. Thanks a lot, Jürgen! Paul

problem with ß scharf s
Dear list, I have to put a pdf-file to a BSCW-server. The way with font (Schrift) default produces nearly unreadable text. So I use pslatex and create the pdf-file with: export - pdf (pdflatex). The text is readable. But the german ß (scharf s) is replaced by SS. Any idea to produce a good readable text in pdf without this problem? I use Lyx 1.3.3 on a SuSE 9.0 regards gerhard

Thanks for all the help I'm not familiar with this package, but the general procdure in LyX is to go to LayoutDocumentPreamble and add the line \usepackage{name-of-your-package} This will allow you to use any commands the package provides (though this will require entering raw LaTeX). Some packages do not require any extra commands (e.g. \usepackage{pandora} will automatically change your fonts to the Pandora fonts).
