Another pointer, borrowed from the TexLive mailing list:
http://www.inf.bme.hu/~pts/sam2p/

I read there that
"sam2p can create EPS and PDF images with transparency"
Alas, sam2p starts from bitmaps, not from vector graphics...

How do you "un-grey" greyed out text?

2006-06-21 Thread Tim Hume

Hi,

I have recently started using LyX, (after using LaTeX for many years). One
feature I really like is being able to add notes and greyed out text.
However, I do not seem to be able to un-grey text which I have previously
greyed out. At present I am cutting greyed out text and pasting it back as
un-greyed out text, but this is clumsy. I'm sure there is a more elegant
solution which I have just been unable to find.

Thanks for any help,

Tim Hume.

Joost has fixed it so Aspell can be installed where you want it.
Probably available in the next LyX release. You can have two
versions of Aspell installed for LyX, so I don't see why it
wouldn't work for LyX and Opera. The traditional 0.5 should work
with Opera or LyX1.3.7 -- and 0.6 should work with LyX1.4.1 --
they share the same parent folder, C:\Aspell but are installed
in different folders after that with different dictionaries.
They don't conflict for the two LyX versions. I don't have
Opera, but a full path specified to the 0.53 Aspell should work.

I know there are issues with Aspell on Windows (I searched the mailing

version in the first place and even if this was a good idea, why is
the custom Aspell clobbering other programs which want the stable
version of Aspell?

You might also have a look at the algorithmicx LaTeX package, which I

That has something to do with checkinstall, not with LyX. Obviously it
expects a spec file that does not exist.

[Patch] GUI cleanup step 2

2006-06-21 Thread Abdelrazak Younes

Hello,

Here is the next step on my GUI API cleanup. Only qt4 for now.

Committed to the "younes" branch. Comments welcome.

Abdel.

Log:
* BufferView::BufferView(LyXView * owner, lyx::frontend::WorkArea *
workArea)

  - now need a valid WorkArea on construction
  - but no more need for width and height

* BufferView_pimpl::BufferView_pimpl:
 - as above plus WorkArea creation is not done there anymore.
   The goal is to void the need for this WorkArea pointer.
   WorkArea shall use the BufferView and not the other way around.

* LyXView:
  - buffer_view_ is now a simple (BufferView *) that can be set via the
setBufferView() method.

This buffer_view_ member should go eventually.
  - new "Gui & owner_" member set on construction.

* qt4/GuiView:
  - implememted above LyXView changes.
  - GuiView::init() new method overloaded from LyXView::init()

* controllers/Kernel.C: adapted to LyXView changes.
* importer.C: ditto
* lyx_main.[Ch]: ditto
* lyxfunc.C: ditto

* Action.C: added frontends/ path to #include

* Application.h:
  - font_loader_: new FontLoader member that replace the global one.
  - gui_ : new GuiImplementation member that replace the instance in
GuiView

* qt4/FontLoader.h: removed the global variable.
* qt4/qfont_metrics.C: adapted to FontLoader and Application Change
* qt4/QLPainter.C: ditto

* frontends/Gui :
  - 3 new pure virtual methods that handle the LyXView creation/deletion
and reference.
  - buffer_views_ : contains the needed  BufferViews

* qt4/GuiImplementation:
  - now manage also GuiView and BufferView creations. For now a new
BufferView is created at the same time as a WorkArea but this might
change in the feature.

* frontends/WorkArea:
  - WorkArea::WorkArea() now only need a BufferView (no more LyXView)
  - BufferView * buffer_view_: new member.

* frontends/qt4/GuiWorkArea: implemented the above changes.

* qt4/lyx_gui.C :
  - a new LyXView and a new WorkArea are created there using theApp->Gui()
  - use theApp->fontLoader()

* lyx_main.h: now needs a simple (LyXView *).

Ahum, Georg wrote that, I'm sorry I pointed out the wrong message in the thread.
A side conclusion of this thread (which was about svg export in general, not
specific to transparency),
it came out that inkscape export could only provide transparency with bitmap
output (png).

Uwe pointed out that a recent version of inkscape provides a transparent pdf

I use "checkinstall" from the DVD Suse 10.1

I get this messages:

This is the reason for the log file.

OK ! The first step with the command:
"./configure --with-frontend=qt --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3"
and the second step with the command:
"make"
runs now without problems and without any warning and error-messages :)

Of course it would be possible to give the command "make install" but I
prefere it to make before a RPM-Package. For me and after than for all other

What can be the reason for the failed to build the package?

--with-frontend=qt --with-qt-dir=/usr/share/qt[/CODE]

Where are my qt library?

How can I see the vision from my qt and qt-develpackage's?

In the file INSTALL it is to read:

Yes.

No, you misunderstood. You can configure any converter you like for svg->png
conversion. You can currently not change the target format png: For
pdflatex export included graphics are always converted to png if they
cannot be used directly.
The workaround to get svg->pdf conversion is to create an external template
(IIRC more detailed instructions are in the list archive).

I believe you have to use Jurabib. It's the only one with a URL record that
works.

Hi there,
I'm using the actual Version of Lyx and Bibdesk on Mac OS. My problem
is, that i create a Bibdesk entry for a webpage, enter the url in the
specific field but in my generated pdf, the url is not shown. All
other entry types (book, article,..) work fine. What am i doing
wrong? is there maybe a font missing?
