Never seen this before. Have no idea where to start looking...

How did you install it? Was it an upgrade or a fresh install? I'd
recommend you do a fresh install:

 rpm -qa | grep lyx
copy the full name and then:
rpm -e full name (removes whatever lyx you have)
 rpm -ivh full package name

I'd also recommend that you move your local .lyx directory somewhere else
(to save it) and start lyx. This forces lyx to create a new local
configuration. I didn't do this at first and then I got the old 1.3.7
layout. When I forced a new local configuration, I got the beautiful
1.4.3 layout, with several additional menu items...

If this doesn't work, I'd recommend you send the errors to the list,
where someone can have a clue on what to do...

The package worked all right in my laptop, but it was compiled there,
anyway. This is the very first time I concocted a rpm package...

 Cheer up!

Line break without resulting in a ragged right margin?

2006-10-17 Thread Andreas Karlsson

Hi,

Using Insert Special Formatting Line Break results in a line break with
a ragged right margin, i.e., the line is not justified to the right.

Is there a way in LyX to insert a line break without this resulting in the
line not being justified?

In Scientific WorkPlace one can use Insert Spacing Break... Linebreak
gives the result I am asking for, but I do not know how to get this result
in LyX. Is it possible?

If not, I hope the developers can introduce this very useful function.

Andreas

Insert-URL... uses the url.sty package, with which I'm not familiar.
The way I do it is as follows:

1. In the preamble, add \usepackage{hyperref} (and, of course, install
the hyperref package if you don't already have it).

2. In the document, type \href{mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Name} either with
everything in ERT or with everything except My Name in ERT (so two ERT
insets, the first one ending with an opening brace and the second
containing just a closing brace). I prefer the latter, since it leaves
My Name accessible for easy editing, spell checking etc., but either
approach should work.

 Cheer up!

 Hi.
I managed to create a RPM package of lyx 1.4.3 for Mandriva Linux LE
2006. I followed the guidelines originally posted by Paul Smith and
 Christian Ridderström in:

 http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyXOnRedHat

It is not a terribly well-organized rpm package, but it looks like it
installed in my MDV2006 box all right.

If anyone is interested, I could distribute the package, but I think
I have no permission to transfer it to any standard lyx mirror...
