Good day to you. I'm currently a B.Tech student in Jaypee University of Information Technology, HP, India. I'm interested in your GSOC projects: Horizontal scrollbar for tables and math , Toolbar customization dialog and have read resources provided at your site. I'm fluent in C, C++ and Java.I haven't contributed to a open source project before. I'm willing to put in extra work required for this project. Kindly advise me if this project is suitable for me and how to get started. Yours sincerely Abhishek abhios...@gmail.com

Not installing on windows 7
Good day I'm trying to install LyX on my windows 7, 64 bit machine. When I tried to run the installer I get a Windows error message: The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher. I couldn't find any mention of whether it was a 32 bit or 64 bit installer. I can't imagine it would be a problem though if it is a 32 bit installer. How should I proceed? In general, it would be great when reporting a problem if you always gave your OS and OS version, your LyX version, and sent a minimal example: http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MinimalExample I know it's hard to understand what information helps if you don't know what the problem is, I would recommend this advice for most bugs/strange behavior and most software. This is just advice that I've learned myself when asking questions. I get more responses when I include more information (if in doubt, give too much information). For example, it's very useful information that you only have the problem with this file (I'm gathering that from you saying everything worked well with this file). Or am I wrong and you have the problem with a new document? Once you send a Minimal Example and give more information it should be easier to figure out if the problem is document specific. Lack of a PDF output option could mean that there its a problem with your LaTeX installation (or that LyX thinks there is). As to the inability to save changes, could it be that the account under which you are running LyX lacks write permission in the directory where the configuration file lives? There also have been problems on Windows systems when the user its using a roaming profile (home directory on a network server). I don't know if those issues have been cured in recent releases. All else failing, you might try hiding your LyX user directory (by renaming it). The next time you start LyX, it will create a new one. I've heard of instances of a user profile becoming corrupted. Keep custom insets open
Hi! I'm using some custom insets in my documents. However, whenever I move out of a new custom inset, Lyx automatically closes it for me. Is there any way to tell Lyx to never automatically close custom insets? Thank you.
