where are the .ico file?

Hi,
I'm still trying to learn lyx to use it as a normal document writer.

Today, I'm wondering:
all the document (.lyx) file,has one .lco file, that let it became
interactive. Isn' t it?

Where do I search for it?

I made a search from the beginning of Lyx dir down, but I do not find them.

Do I made a wrong search?

Using natbib sets the citation style to apacite (see

If you want to brute-force it, then you could edit the apacite.bst file,
but I think that loading the correct .apc should work. If not, perhaps some
minor edits to your .apc file will solve the problem. My brief look at
german.apc makes me believe that it should be correct already (maybe the
problem is that it's not getting loaded?), but I am not so good at German.

Yes. I installed all lib and necesary modules for enchant and hunspell, when I 
run ./configure I get all the messages that say enchant and hunspell are ready.

 You're using LyX with backend support for more than one spell checker.
 Every spell checker comes with it's own shared library.
 These open calls are made on program startup to resolve the library function

  aspell/enchant directories *are* opened.

myspell is the the only usable package in your scenario. In fact it's hunspell. 
The debian package puts the dictionaries into /usr/share/hunspell. (At least 
the package contents here says so: 
https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/all/myspell-es/filelist)

So you may enter the mentioned path into your preferences and see if it works.

amsfonts on lyx

Thousands of students and researchers us latex and fonts from the 
American Mathematical Society.  There are some instructions on line that 
I suppose are adequate for MS windows users, but I could not find 
detailed instructions for Linux.  I pieced together the steps followed 
below that ultimately did not work:

Mathematical Society, amsfonts.  I installed them on my Debian Linux 
laptop with su, apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, and apt-get install 
texlive-all.  Here is where they went:

~/.lyx directory and edited packages.lst and searched for amsfonts, 
sadly without success.


So the question is, What did I do wrong? and why is this so hard!

Did you try compiling this document? Did it work? If you do not get an 
error, then amsfonts.sty is being loaded.


Then I went to Tools, Reconfigure. When it finished I looked in the

LyX queries your TeX engine to find out what packages are installed. Try 
opening a terminal and doing:


# kpsewhich amsfonts.sty

You will get a path to that file if it's there and nothing if it is not. 
If not, you probably need to:


# sudo apt-get install texlive-amsfonts

You might also try:

# sudo texhash

to regenerate the TeX database.

If it is already there, then the question is why LyX does not see it, 
and we can try to figure that out.

Did you try compiling this document? Did it work? If you do not get an 
error, then amsfonts.sty is being loaded.

LyX queries your TeX engine to find out what packages are installed. Try 
opening a terminal and doing:


# kpsewhich amsfonts.sty

You will get a path to that file if it's there and nothing if it is not. 
If not, you probably need to:


# sudo apt-get install texlive-amsfonts

You might also try:

# sudo texhash

to regenerate the TeX database.

If it is already there, then the question is why LyX does not see it, 
and we can try to figure that out.

I'm still trying to learn lyx to use it as a normal document writer.

Today, I'm wondering:
all the document (.lyx) file,has one .lco file, that let it became
interactive. Isn' t it?

Where do I search for it?

I made a search from the beginning of Lyx dir down, but I do not find them.

Do I made a wrong search?

Using natbib sets the citation style to apacite (see
http://mirrors.rit.edu/CTAN/macros/latex/contrib/apa6/apa6.pdf ), which is
probably what you want, anyway. I have not dealt much with language issues,
but I think the best place to start is to take a look at the documentation
for the apacite package: http://ctan.org/pkg/apacite There is a section in
the documentation about language-specific issues, where it suggests that
you study the .apc file. I would guess that the established method of using
babel and .apc files should work.

If you want to brute-force it, then you could edit the apacite.bst file,
but I think that loading the correct .apc should work. If not, perhaps some
minor edits to your .apc file will solve the problem. My brief look at
german.apc makes me believe that it should be correct already (maybe the
problem is that it's not getting loaded?), but I am not so good at German.

Yes. I installed all lib and necesary modules for enchant and hunspell, when I 
run ./configure I get all the messages that say enchant and hunspell are ready.

Then you have to grab them from other source.

LyX has to be compiled with hunspell support. That's enough.
And you has to point it to the dictionaries if you have put them
to a non-standard place (/usr/share/myspell is standard for LyX).

myspell is the the only usable package in your scenario. In fact it's hunspell. 
The debian package puts the dictionaries into /usr/share/hunspell. (At least 
the package contents here says so: 
https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/all/myspell-es/filelist)

So you may enter the mentioned path into your preferences and see if it works.

American Mathematical Society.  There are some instructions on line that 
I suppose are adequate for MS windows users, but I could not find 
detailed instructions for Linux.  I pieced together the steps followed 
below that ultimately did not work:

Mathematical Society, amsfonts.  I installed them on my Debian Linux 
laptop with su, apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, and apt-get install 
texlive-all.  Here is where they went:
