Latex Errors

2015-01-10 Thread Gordon Cooper
While using Lyx to edit a moderately long technical manual (being
written by others) and exporting it as pdf and html, Latex errors
have become difficult to find. Previously I could select an error and
it would be highlighted in the Lyx script. That highlighting has
disappeared. Is this function in the texlive package?

Using Lyx 2.1.2 in MX Linux.

flush left inside minipages

2015-01-10 Thread Ferenc Beleznay
Hi,I am trying to left align everything I write, so I put \raggedright in the
LaTeX preamble in th edocument settings. This works fine for the main text, but
inside minipages (I have quite a lot as margin notes), I still have both left
and right alignment. Is there anything I can do besides adjusting the alignment
in every minipage?I am using LyX 2.1.1 and Linux Mint 17. The minipages are
created by the "insert box" inside nargin notesThanks, Ferenc

This one required some knowledge about both LaTeX classes/packages internals
and of LyX's inner systematic, so it is no surprise you couldn't find out
yourself.

Actually, I was not aware of this problem before you reported it. I will
document this on the LinguistLyX wiki page for reference.

What needs to be fixed here?

In the local layout definition, replace

Preamble

with

AddToPreamble

This should fix it.

Jürgen

Bingo!

Replacing *Preamble* by *AddToPreamble* finally did it!

Great job and I am much obliged!

Jürgen, I also read of course your nice paper "Writing linguistics

explicitly offer the solution (at least to the complete layman).

Thanks and Cheers,

writing glosses in Lyx beamer

2015-01-10 Thread Michael Berger

Dear folks,
Jürgen had sent me the code to be put in Documents > Settings > Local
Layout in order to defunct beamer's example(s) environment in favor of
covington's.
I added this code in an otherwise well compiling beamer document and got
it validated.

Though after reopening a first line was added "Format 49".

Problem
Subsequently all attempts to compile the document to PDF failed; the
first line removed or kept in place making no difference.

Latex error:
! Undefined control sequence
1.62 \makebeamertitle

What needs to be fixed here?

Thanks and regards,
Michael

openSUSE 13.2 / KDE
Lyx 2.1.2

PS: Jürgens example lyx document furnished me along with the code could
be compiled without problems
