Footnote in box with page-breaks

2014-05-26 Thread Frank Leone
Dear all,

I use LyX 2.1 to write my PhD-thesis. I have a multipage box in my
introduction, where I would like to add a footnote, but to no avail.

Specifically, while the footnote nr is added, the actual footnote is not
shown in the pdf. This behavior is specific for boxes where a page-break is
allowed and is not dependent on the actual page-break (i.e., also in small
boxes this problem occurs when page-break is enabled). In other boxes,
footnotes do work.

Do I do something wrong here, or is this a bug? And does anyone know how I
can solve it?

Thanks a lot in advance,

   best,

  Frank

Dear all,

normally can be done by putting a float around it, but as it is a multipage

Does someone have an idea what I could do to get a caption to a multipage
box?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Thanks a lot for the answer, Jürgen, that indeed explains the problem.
However, I don't get why Figure wrap float does work, even though it is
also a float.

And the solution suggested on the website regrettably does not help in my
case: I can't switch the box and figure, as I need the lines of the box to
include the figure and, more importantly, the box float is (if I understand
correctly) the only multi-page float.

Is there a way to make the figure wrap float non-wrappable, i.e., to have no
text at the side(s)?

Thanks again!

Re: Large figures with ContinuedFloat

2013-10-11 Thread Frank Leone

Dear Helge, and others,

I use boxfloat to create a box floating environment, which works really
good. Now one of my boxes is larger than one page, so I would like it to
continue. I found this post and tried the ERT trick (copying my entire float
environment, insert \ContinuedFloat), but it doesn't help (nothing changes).
I did include the the subfig package.

Could you help me out how I can do this instead/what I do wrong? Thanks a
lot in advance,

 Frank
