jed install problem
According to the packages database jed-nox (= text version) is available only as unstable. I have configured fink to use unstable (edited fink.conf, then run selfupdate, index and scanpackages). However, after this the list command doesn't include jed, and install fails: no such package. So, what could be wrong? Holger
Re: jed install problem
I am really sorry for the noise. The wrong list! H.

Mac keyboard shortcut problem
Hi, I have installed Lyx/Mac 1.3.7 and appropriate Tex stuff on my mac mini. Everything seems to be ok - except that no keyboard shortcuts work. However, at lyx.org the following is stated: Mac-like keyboard shortcuts for commands and cursor movements (like OPT-LEFT to move left one word) are provided as the default for new installations. What should I do to make this default work? ~/Library/Application/ Support/Lyx/bind is empty. A pdf-file listing lyx/mac bindings came with the installation, but I can't get them work. Holger

Bibliography question
I am new to lyx, and after a few weeks of use I'm delighted. What an ease to work, compared to word processors of the ordinary kind. Thanks to all lyx contributors. Now my question. Using the bibliography paragraph environment every item is numbered. Is there a way to turn off this numbering feature? Holger

I don't know a situation where it is better to type in directly the biblio info rather than creating a database, but this is not the point here. Thanks for the suggestions, For future work I shall try out bibtex and these packages. I don't see any other way than hacking the bibliography environment described in the class to wipe out the numbers. Per email I got a suggestion which solves my problem with the document at hand: Try [EMAIL PROTECTED] {} in the preamble. Thanks again. Holger
